Avocado Garlic Cream

I'm not sure what to call this one. Is it a cream? A sauce? A dip? A spread? It can be used as all of the above for several different recipes. I'll leave it as a "cream" because of its texture and mouthfeel, though as an FYI, it can be used for EVERYTHING. 

 

It's creamy and satisfying. Avocados are becoming more and more popular because of its nutritional profile. It's a great way to consume healthy fats from a whole food. While some plant-based oils also contain healthy fats, avocados provide fibre and some protein - something a spoonful of olive oil cannot provide. 

This recipe is most delicious when fresh, so aim to make it the day you plan on consuming it for the best flavour.

Did you know: Avocados have the highest fibre content of any other fruit at about 10g of fibre per medium sized avocado!

Avocado Garlic Cream

▸ ▹ Vegan, raw, gluten-free, oil-free, refined sugar-free, nut-free

Yield: approx. 1 cup

INGREDIENTS

2 medium ripe avocados

2 cloves garlic

2 tsp Sriracha hot sauce

1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)

1 lime, juiced 

sprinkle of salt (optional) 

 

Directions

Add all ingredients to a blender, and blend until well-combined and creamy. Enjoy with nourish bowls, in wraps, in sandwiches or as a dip!

 

Notes

Storage: store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to two days.
