Directions

Click:

  1. Add all ingredients, except for the maple syrup, to a high-speed blender** and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  2. Pour this mixture straight into a saucepan. If your blender isn't very powerful, or if you don't like small fibres to remain in your drink, strain the mixture first when pouring it into the saucepan.
  3. Place on the stove on medium-high heat until warmed through, whisking throughout the prevent burning.
  4. Taste test, and if you like it sweeter, add up to 1 Tbsp maple syrup. To turn it into a turmeric latte, add in some brewed espresso if desired.
  5. When warm, pour into mugs, sprinkle on a bit of cinnamon, and enjoy!

Notes

  • * Nutrition tip: aim to use plant-based milk that is fortified with calcium.
  • ** If you don't have a blender, simply substitute the dates with 1 Tbsp (15 mL) maple syrup. In this way, you can skip using the blender, but it will make the drink slightly less creamy.

Storage

  • Best to enjoy this drink immediately.
  • This drink can be blended ahead of time, stored in a mason jar for up to a day before warming it in a saucepan on the stove.

I never thought I would love a turmeric milk so much - this one is freaking delicious! I really, really, really recommend it!

One question: if using a shot of espresso, does the caffeine retain the absorption of turmeric?

PUL Team - Aug. 4, 2021, 2:20 a.m.

Hi there, Georgiana! Thanks for the question and lovely review. We've looked into it briefly and can't find any compelling evidence on caffeine and turmeric. It looks like a topic with growing research though so perhaps in the future we can explore it more in an article 😃 In the meantime, you may find the turmeric articles on nutritionfacts.org interesting! Such as their article related to it's bioavailibiliy: nutritionfacts.org/video/boos… ☺️

This drink was our little nutritious friend during the challenging times of the pandemic! Absolutely yumm and comforting. Thanks for the recipe Sadia!

Aw so glad you enjoyed it, Aiman, thanks for sharing 🌻

Absolutely LOVE this drink and one of my go-tos (well, all PUL's recipes are incredible and my go-tos but this has to be one of the staples to curb after-dinner sugar cravings!). The black pepper adds that little edge to warm you up inside :) Any tips on how to stop the blitzed date sinking to the bottom and instead make it amalgamate more into the drink? Is it the dates I'm using? Anyway still a 5 star recipe by all means!

PUL Team - July 29, 2021, 1:37 a.m.

Hey Elizabeth, we appreciate this so much! Indeed, because we've chosen to sweeten the drink with dates, you may notice a bit of date "puree" in the drink. Using a super-high-speed blender might help blitz up the pieces into small enough pieces that you might not even notice, as was the case with our Vitamix. Soaking the dates ahead of time may also help soften them even more so they blend more easily. Alternatively, you could also opt for 1 Tbsp of maple or agave syrup instead of the dates to sweeten the beverage to avoid the blitzed date residue ☺️ I hope this helps for now!

This has become one of my favourite drinks to get me through the cold Canadian winters. It tastes so good that you wouldn't believe it's healthy for you!

Casey - July 9, 2021, 4:03 a.m.

Before I tried this recipe I had been searching for the best golden milk, but she ended my search completely!! Literally the best golden milk latte I have ever tasted! Prob make this at least 3 times a week without fail. Sidenote: I do add a dash of ginger for the extra kick

PUL Team - July 13, 2021, 4:21 a.m.

Such a lovely review, Casey, thank you!

Lana R - July 8, 2021, 7:35 p.m.

(TLDR; So creamy and comforting, you have to add it into the mix during the cold season!) Side note: I really love how this website gets right to the point with recipes. I really hate having to scroll through a long winded post just to find the deets. This site is beautiful! Ok, back to the milk! I tried this over the holiday season and this drink made me feel like I was such a health nut. It’s like you level up in life, when you drink this. I do have to add a touch more syrup for the next go-around, because I’m still training myself to consume less sugar. Bravo!

PUL Team - July 10, 2021, 6:58 p.m.

Aww we're so glad you're enjoying the new website, Lana! ✨🥰

A lovely compliment, Nehir! So glad you're enjoying it 😍

Michaela - April 8, 2021, 3:49 p.m.

Very delicious!
I'm a little bit confused.
The amount for two servings is the same, like on your old website? In the Video also it is not the same... 🤔 But delicious as all what you create🤰

PUL Team - April 9, 2021, 12:46 a.m.

Hey Michaela! The recipe yields 2-3 servings of golden milk depending on how big the mugs used are. We opted to stick with servings based on our mugs! We're glad you enjoyed the recipe and do let us know if there's anything else we can help address 😃

Samantha - March 29, 2021, 9:33 p.m.

This recipe is delicious. My one year old loves to enjoy it with me in her sippy cup. I love to have it instead of a cup of coffee in the afternoons or as a comfy drink to have before bedtime.

PUL Team - April 2, 2021, 11:50 p.m.

Aww thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Samantha! Sending lots of love to you and your little one 🥰

Mmm, how many times have I made this... too many! So warm, cozy, delicious. I forego the maple, but that's personal preference.

Oh that's so lovely to hear! Thanks for sharing :)
