Roasted garlic is incredibly tasty and versatile to use.
Roasting the garlic brings out the sweetness and reduced that "bite" we get with raw garlic, meaning we can use more of it when incorporated into our recipes.
Let's make some roasted garlic...
Step 1: cut the head off a bulb of garlic.
Step 2: place it on a baking sheet.
Step 3: drizzle on a bit of olive oil.
Step 4: bake in the oven at 180C/350F for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden. Viola!
How-To: Make Roasted Garlic

Yield: 1 bulb of roasted garlic
Prep Time: 2 min
Cook Time: 15-20 min
Total Time: 20-25 min
1 bulb of garlic
1-2 tsp (5-10 mL) olive oil
Pre-heat oven to 200 C/390 F.
Cut the top off a bulb of garlic, drizzle on the olive oil over top, and roast in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let cool. The garlic can be squeezed from the peel once cooled.
Storage: store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
