Ingredients

Optional garnish

  • flaked sea salt

Directions

  1. Fill a saucepan with 2 cm of water, and bring to a gentle boil. Place a heat-safe bowl on top of the pan to create a 'double boiler'. Place the chocolate in the bowl and stir often. The heat from the bowl will melt the chocolate.
  2. Once the chocolate has melted, turn off the heat and stir the condensed coconut milk and vanilla into the chocolate.
  3. Line a 6 x 6 inch (16 x 16 cm) square baking dish with parchment paper and transfer the mixture to the dish. Sprinkle flaked sea salt on top if desired. Place in the freezer for at least 2 hours to harden.
  4. To make cutting easier, try running your knife under hot water before cutting the fudge. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For the best texture, we recommend eating the fudge when it has just come out of the freezer.

Molly - Sept. 17, 2024, 4:24 p.m.

This is the best fudge I have ever eaten in my life.

It is so good that it stopped my party in its tracks last weekend because everyone was urging each other to try it with eyes closed to completely savour the experience.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 17, 2024, 10:36 p.m.

What a huge compliment, Molly! So happy to hear that the vegan chocolate fudge recipe is being enjoyed 🙌

Emily Evans - Sept. 8, 2024, 11:33 p.m.

Hi, I tried making this but the chocolate and coconut milk separated once frozen. Any suggestions?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 9, 2024, 2:42 p.m.

Hi Emily, thanks for sharing your experience with the vegan duge recipe. We'd recommend letting the melted chocolate cool slightly before mixing in the condensed coconut milk, and make sure they’re fully combined before freezing. This should help create a smoother texture 🤗

Akanksha Vyas - Aug. 15, 2024, 2:57 p.m.

Hii, loved the recipe!! Just wanted to ask that is vanilla extract mandatory? Do let me know if we can skip it or add anything else.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 15, 2024, 8:10 p.m.

Hello Akanksha 🤗 you can skip the vanilla extract if you prefer, or replace it with a different flavouring like almond extract for a twist on the chocolate fudge.

Mona - Aug. 14, 2024, 6:35 p.m.

Hi,
Can we substitute sugar with any natural sweetener like (jaggery, cane sugar, khandsari, etc)in coconut condensed milk.?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 15, 2024, 8:06 p.m.

Hi Mona, the sweetened condensed milk is a rather substantial part of the recipe, and given the recipe is made with just the 2 main ingredients (chocolate + condensed cocomilk), it's hard to say that one of them can be swapped without it affecting the fudge pretty majorly. You can always try experimenting with it, but because we haven't tested it out, we can't say for sure any other subs will work. Let us know how it goes if you try anything out! :)

Cynthia O´Toole - July 19, 2024, 9:05 a.m.

What can I use instead of sweetened condensed coconut milk? I didn't find it at supermarket here in Auckland, New Zealand. Any suggestions? Maybe vanilla fudge protein powder, Morlife brand one I buy from Australia 😊😍❤️❤️

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 19, 2024, 2:30 p.m.

Hi Cynthia! If it helps, the brand we use is called Nature's Charm, which we usually find at our local Asian supermarket. If you can't find it there, you might consider making your own. It's simple and requires just two ingredients: coconut milk and sugar. Try searching for "Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk" on our website or in our app to find the recipe. Enjoy experimenting! 😊

Cynthia O´Toole - July 20, 2024, 3:20 a.m.

Thank you so much for your reply Sadia!! I will try to find it first 😊
Sending lots of love your way, you and your husband are lovely ❤️❤️

Cynthia O´Toole - July 15, 2024, 6:41 a.m.

I look forward to trying this very delicious recipe, thank you so much Sadia!! I love your videos and your smile and you are such a beautiful and very happy person ❤️❤️❤️

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 15, 2024, 5:59 p.m.

Awe thanks for sharing your love and light, Cynthia! We hope you love the Vegan Chocolate Fudge 🥰✨

Maxine - May 10, 2024, 4:02 a.m.

What a delightful treat! Despite being frozen, it stays wonderfully creamy. It holds its shape perfectly, making each bite a delightful experience.

Maxine - April 25, 2024, 2:28 a.m.

Do you thaw this before eating? Or is it a frozen treat?
Thanks!

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 26, 2024, 4:17 a.m.

Hey Maxine, for the best texture, we recommend eating the fudge when it has just come out of the freezer 😊

Amy - April 8, 2024, 1:05 a.m.

I’ve made this several times and it always came out super sticky - very tasty, but it didn’t hold its shape at all. This time I reduced the chocolate a bit and it came out perfectly. It’s firm enough to make bars and still super tasty. Must be something about the brand of SC coconut milk or the semisweet chocolate I’m using.

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 8, 2024, 4:10 a.m.

Hey Amy, thanks for sharing your experience with the vegan fudge 🤗 It may indeed have had something to do with the brand of sweetened condensed coconut milk you're using. It could either be the sugar content or the emulsifier in the ingredient list.

Athina - Dec. 24, 2023, 10:52 p.m.

Super easy and delicious!

Mathilde Willems - Oct. 29, 2023, 5:32 p.m.

It’ll definitely be one of my favorite dessert!! So tasty!! 😋😋

Martina - Oct. 22, 2023, 4:23 p.m.

This is such a delicious, little treat! 😍 All my non-vegan friends enjoyed the fudge a lot, thank you for creating such amazing recipes!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Oct. 22, 2023, 11:10 p.m.

So glad the fudge was enjoyed, Martina, thank you! 😃

Yasmine - Aug. 3, 2023, 9:02 p.m.

I made them too thin due to my tin but anyway it is so good!! 🤤

Jennifer - July 11, 2023, 3:35 p.m.

This fudge was super easy to make and it tastes delicious! I melted my chocolate chips in my microwave and it worked great. A recipe to keep, for sure!
I am so happy that I came across your channel. All of your videos are enjoyable and you have great content.
Thank you!

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 14, 2023, 8:09 a.m.

Oh, Jennifer, you're much too kind! Thank YOU for joining our community and helping make it so incredible 💛

Brianna - June 26, 2023, 4:44 a.m.

This came out so so so good. Even my husband loves it and he hates coconut (I know it's horrible) . My 2 year old also loved it and kept asking for more. We all only had one piece to set a healthy example but oh my gosh I can't wait to have another piece later in the week. Such a fantastic and simple recipe. Will be making again.

*Also I unfortunately don't have a food scale and the bag of chocolate chips I used was 12oz so I used the whole thing because I felt I would have messed it up if I tried to eye it out . It still came out great. But I want to try it with 11oz when I get a food scale.

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 27, 2023, 12:18 a.m.

Awe so happy the fudge was enjoyed, Brianna - it means so much! Happy cooking 🤗

Chhaya - June 5, 2023, 8:17 p.m.

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 6, 2023, 3:18 a.m.

Woohoo! It means so much, Chhaya 😃

Christianne - May 11, 2023, 9:04 a.m.

Pick up limes, you've done it again. Simple, accessible recipe, easily executed and it tastes amazing! Thank you!

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 11, 2023, 6:12 p.m.

It means so much, Christianne, thank you!

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 11, 2023, 3:32 a.m.

Hey Mary, aw maybe one day we can explore translating our content 🤗

Mary - May 11, 2023, 8:59 a.m.

I will wait for that day. Love 🫠

Anja - May 5, 2023, 5:52 a.m.

This was so easy to make and it is so delicious!

Mel - Feb. 23, 2023, 8:37 p.m.

Does anyone know what brand of chocolate and condensed milk I could use to make this product in Canada

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 25, 2023, 4:34 a.m.

Hey Mel, any brands will do for this one! Zimt, Camino, and Theo are three brands of chocolate in case it helps. Part of our team in Canada has also found that sweetened condensed coconut milk tends to be in the organic aisle of grocery stores 🤗

Mel - March 17, 2023, 7:21 p.m.

Hey Team,
So I made this recipe with Hu chocolate sugar free and condensed milk that I could find at the time but my recipe came out nothing like the picture and it was very sticky any suggestions as to what I did wrong. I left it over night in the freezer but still very sticky .. 🤷‍♀️

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 18, 2023, 1:57 a.m.

Hey Mel! This recipe is a bit sticky to begin with, so it might be fine after a while in the freezer, but if the texture still seems off I assume it might be the condensed coconut milk used. If your local international supermarket carries other brands, it might be worth trying again with another. We also used chocolate with sugar in it, I wonder if the sugar-free varieties use ingredients that might not solidify well again once melted? I'd usually only change one variable at a time though, if you're planning on giving it another go - that way you can pinpoint what might be the culprit 🤓

Angelica - Feb. 19, 2023, 2:17 p.m.

Gevaarlijk lekker!!!!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 19, 2023, 7:09 p.m.

Awe so thrilled the recipe is being enjoyed with the fun fillings! Thank you, Angelica 🙂

Hubert - Oct. 7, 2022, 7:11 p.m.

This bad boy is really chocolate rich and dense. Only small portion at once is possible to eat. Best with coffe or tea. Anyway it's delicious :-)

Eddie - Sept. 20, 2022, 7:16 p.m.

This was so yummy! The only bad thing is how hard it is to eat a modest portion once finished 😅. This vegan fudge is very simple and straightforward. It does take a little bit of time to allow the fudge to thicken, which is hard if the sweet tooth urge is strong. I also made my own sweetened condensed coconut milk, which took about 45 minutes too, but it was so worth it. I suggest making this at the beginning of cooking a larger feast for guests, so it is freezing while you are cooking the main dishes/sides. Essentially, for someone else who is impatient and loves sweets, time the making of this with about a 2 hour distraction. Coming back to delicious homemade fudge is a wonderful reward. Will be making this again and might try little medications like chopped nuts, hemp, flax, other seeds and see how that turns out.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 21, 2022, 11:24 p.m.

Beyond happy to hear it's being enjoyed, Eddie, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with it! Love the ideas as well 😃

José - Sept. 16, 2022, 1 a.m.

Everyone's saying this already but I'm gonna say it too: this is amazing. It's so low effort and easy to find/make ingredients, and then the result is just so lovely omg. Also a small warning for everyone that's going to try this: cut it into small portions because you'll be full in no time haha

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 16, 2022, 1:53 a.m.

So thrilled it's being enjoyed, José, thank you!

Raych - Aug. 30, 2022, 10:43 p.m.

I haven't made this yet but I am very excited to! I was wondering, though, what brand of chocolate you use for this? Do you have a favorite melting chocolate brand? Thanks!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 31, 2022, 5:31 p.m.

Hey Raych, we tend to use a brand from our local grocery store in the Netherlands called Delecata, but any will do. Other brands we've enjoyed include Zimt, Camino, and Theo to name a few 🙂

Tanu - Aug. 14, 2022, 4:38 a.m.

This recipe is delicious, amazing and so creamy. Thank you so so much PUL for making this amazing website. Everything is beautiful and cooking is more fun now.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 14, 2022, 5:08 p.m.

It means so much to hear, Tanu, thank you! Happy cooking 🤗

Baylee - Aug. 2, 2022, 10:21 p.m.

This was super easy and so delicious! I didn’t have the ability to do the double boiler but I kept the heat low and just made sure to be patient and stir a lot. I love the slight coconut flavor in the fudge too. I will definitely be making it again :)

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 3, 2022, 1:29 a.m.

It means so much that the recipe was enjoyed, Baylee, thank you!

Victoria - July 20, 2022, 12:04 a.m.

So simple and easy! I was afraid my coconut condensed milk was an odd separated texture but it still worked. I used 100% cacao chips to decrease the sweetness. Too generously with flaked salt.

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 20, 2022, 3:53 a.m.

Woohoo! We're so glad it was enjoyed, Victoria 🤗

Brian - June 15, 2022, 7:06 p.m.

I made this last night and I absolutely love it! Adding a little salt on top is pretty much required - definitely a fantastic garnish. My partner wasn't a huge fan as she's not that into dark chocolate, but I will definitely be making this again. My first (intentionally) vegan recipe too, and I'm very happy with it!

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 17, 2022, 7:29 a.m.

We're so glad it was enjoyed, Brian, especially as your first vegan planned vegan dessert! Happy cooking 🤗

Lauren R. - June 14, 2022, 5:26 p.m.

I have some dear coworkers that are dairy-free. They often cannot participate in workplace treats. I can't wait to make this for them!

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 16, 2022, 6:12 a.m.

Awe so kind of you to think of them! We hope it's enjoyed, Lauren 🙂

Victoria - May 30, 2022, 11:50 a.m.

This chocolate fudge is simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I am never good with desserts, and this one came out perfect - my guests were impressed and it is just so easy to make. Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 30, 2022, 4:07 p.m.

Oh thank you for the glowing review, Victoria! We're smiling from ear to ear ☺️

Charlotte - May 27, 2022, 11:21 a.m.

This is the first fudge I have tried or made since living vegan and it is absolutely delicious! My boyfriend is also a massive fan (and he's not vegan). I will definitely be making it again and next time I plan to make my own condensed coconut milk, as per the PUL recipe, as I couldn't find it in stores this time around and I used a rice and oat based variety instead. I was wondering if the coconut milk adds to the flavour of the fudge as I imagine a chocolate coconut combo would be amazing!

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 28, 2022, 10:36 p.m.

Hey Charlotte, thanks a bunch for sharing your experience with it! We do find the sweetened condensed coconut milk helps add a lovely hint of sweet coconut to the taste and creaminess from its fat for a fudgey texture. Enjoy 🤗

Charlotte - May 29, 2022, 11:29 a.m.

Thank you so much for letting me know Sadia! I'll be sure to try that version next time! 🥰

Jeni Pierce - May 24, 2022, 10:31 p.m.

I don’t always eat vegan, actually rarely when it comes to my desserts I don’t care if they are healthy. This was not just the best fudge, it was better than most chocolate tarts I eat. Thank you Keala Jarvis for making this for me and introducing me to, Puck up Limes.

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 25, 2022, 5:15 a.m.

Hey Jeni, we're so glad the chocolate fudge was enjoyed and welcome to the PUL community 🤗
