Hi would that recipe work with coconut milk instead of coconut yogurt?
PUL Team - Jan. 18, 2026, 9:30 p.m.
Hi hi, Isra! Thanks so much for the question. Coconut milk is much thinner than coconut yogurt, so we wouldn’t recommend swapping it directly here. If you’d like to experiment and are okay with a stronger coconut taste, you could try using the thick top bit you'd find from a can of full-fat coconut milk that's been refrigerated overnight, and adding a bit more peanut butter or banana to help it firm up. That said, for the best results, we’d stick with coconut yogurt for the ideal texture, or another neutral-tasting yogurt could work too.

I tried making these and the inside ended up being icey and crunchy rather than creamy. How can I fix it?

Hi Meital! Is there any chance you used soy or almond yogurt instead of coconut? Soy yogurt tends to freeze a bit icier due to its higher water content and lower fat.
That said, a bit of an icy texture is to be expected. It can help to try to thaw the bites for a few minutes longer to help the insides soften a bit more 🫶

So tasty and simple. I personally don’t like peanut butter unless it’s used in a savory way like PUL Spicy Gochujang Peanut Butter Noodles or PUL Peanut & Coconut Satay Sauce. So I used almond butter instead and topped with a singular almond. I found the almond flavor wasn’t prominent, maybe because peanut butter is just stronger than almond butter. I’m not sure, so I would just add an extra tablespoon of almond butter next time. I also did not have coconut yogurt, so I substituted almond yogurt. These sweet bites were so delicious! The amount of chocolate also covered the bites perfectly!

So glad you enjoyed them, Aileen! Almond butter is a great swap, and adding a bit more next time sounds like a smart move for a stronger flavour. Love that the chocolate coating turned out just right 🥰

Hey Marguerite, aw thanks for sharing your experience with the recipe. We find coating gets easier with practice, although that makes total sense! If frozen and coating isn't your thing, you may enjoy our Banana Chocolate Milkshake Smoothie or Baked Double Chocolate Banana Oatmeal recipes which blend chocolate and banana flavours. Both can use peanut butter instead of cashew or almond butter ☺️

Hello, I plan to make it tonight. Why does it need coconut oil ? Would only melted chocolate or alternatively with half the amount of vegan butter work? Thanks !
PUL Team - Sept. 26, 2024, 10:13 p.m.
Hi Alice, the coconut oil helps thin out the chocolate, making it easier to coat the yogurt bites smoothly. You could use just melted chocolate or try half the amount of vegan butter, though the texture may be slightly different. Hope this helps 🤗

Would it work with soy yogurt?🙏
PUL Team - Sept. 23, 2024, 9:02 p.m.
Hey Melody, yup you can use soy or any plant-based yogurt you'd like! It may have a slightly icy-er texture compared to a coconut yogurt but should still be as tasty 🤗
