LOVED ITTTT!!!!

Deesha Vora - March 9, 2024, 7:30 p.m.

I have made it so many times and still love to make it. My entire family loves this recipe

Evelien Van Hooff- Liedorp - Feb. 5, 2024, 7:54 p.m.

Fantastisch lekker! Beetje anders gedaan omdat ik 2 ingrediënten niet had maar de smaak is waanzinnig. Wat is overigens het verschil tussen amandelboter of amandel pasta?

PUL Team - Feb. 7, 2024, 1:49 a.m.

We're so happy to hear that the granola was enjoyed, Evelien! Almond butter is made from roasted almonds and has a creamy texture, similar to peanut butter, whereas almond paste is a sweetened mixture of ground almonds, sugar, and sometimes others flavourings. Although, in Dutch almond butter is also translated to "amandelpasta". Hope this helps for now 😊

Tarika Vijayaraghavan - Dec. 3, 2023, 12:38 a.m.

I make a variation of this recipe with dried cranberries (swapping for mango). This has been a staple breakfast recipe for over 2 years now and a super favourite in my circle. Imma granola girl 💪

PUL Team - Dec. 3, 2023, 11:54 p.m.

Dried cranberries are a lovely idea, Tarika! Lots of love to all the granola girlies out there 😜✨

Tonnie - Nov. 9, 2023, 2:43 p.m.

I love this recipe.

Jana - Sept. 14, 2023, 10:08 p.m.

Amazing! Thanks so much team. My husband, who adamantly refuses to eat anything with oats had this recipe and actually said it was good! Believe me, that’s an immense feat! Thank you so much! Soo yummy!

PUL Team - Sept. 15, 2023, 12:23 a.m.

Yayy we're so happy the granola was enjoyed, Jana - thank you! 🤩

Josefin Vanek - Sept. 8, 2023, 9:09 p.m.

Best granola! And I have tried many:)

Olivia - June 24, 2023, 1:36 p.m.

I’ve made it tonight, with some tweaks here and there to use up the nuts and seeds I had on hand.

It smells delicious. Even my kitten wants a taste 🤣

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s breakfast!

Kayla - June 11, 2023, 1:32 a.m.

Love this recipe, so yummy

Martunia - June 10, 2023, 2:48 p.m.

So yummy! (As is tradition for PUL granolas 🙂) I didn't have the quinoa so I added more oats and instead of almonds I added my favorite Brazil nuts. 10/10 ❤️

PUL Team - June 10, 2023, 4:53 p.m.

Sounds delicious 😍 thank you, Martunia!

Fionnuala Fagan - June 4, 2023, 6:47 a.m.

I’ve stopped buying granola because of this recipe

Vallen - May 14, 2023, 4:51 p.m.

This granola is absolutely amazing! I've used dried apricots instead of dried mangoes, simply because that's what I've had on hand. This is my third or fourth week in a row making this - it's so yummy!

PUL Team - May 15, 2023, 7:18 a.m.

So thrilled to hear, Vallen! Dried apricots are a lovely modification 🤗

Diana Mills - May 10, 2023, 7:49 p.m.

Best granola ever!

Melanie - April 27, 2023, 6:47 p.m.

Very good!
I use a homemade cashew strawberry nut butter instead of the almond butter.
I also add cacao nibs

PUL Team - April 29, 2023, 3:42 p.m.

Mmm sounds delcious! Thank you, Melanie 😃

Caroline - April 23, 2023, 3:07 p.m.

Absolutely loved this!
I'm usually a chocolate granola kind of girl but felt like I could use some change and was particularly intrigued by the addition of dehydrated mangoes in this one. I love the texture and the taste! I definitely will make it again :)
My boyfriend is usually not a fan of my homemade granolas because he finds them too sweet but really loved this one. Its sweet without being overempowering and I find that you can taste the roasted flavor profile much better than in a chocolate granola :)

PUL Team - April 24, 2023, 6:06 a.m.

Woohoo! We're so happy the recipe is being enjoyed, Caroline, thank you 😊

Carmen - April 14, 2023, 8:12 a.m.

This granola was absolutely delicious! It was a little difficult cutting up the dried mango, but worth it in the end. My new favourite granola recipe on your site.

PUL Team - April 14, 2023, 8:13 p.m.

So happy to hear, Carmen, thank you!

Priya - March 24, 2023, 8:33 p.m.

Hey PUL team ! Can I use honey instead of maple syrup here ?

PUL Team - March 25, 2023, 7:16 a.m.

Hey Priya, we don't use honey so we're not sure how it'd turn out. We hope you enjoy the granola if you're able to give it a try 🤗

Evelien Van Hooff- Liedorp - Feb. 5, 2024, 7:57 p.m.

I used honey. I think it doesn't really matter which you use. My maple was finished so I went for honey. It's just to sweeten it up.

Karin - March 19, 2023, 7:24 p.m.

Really good and easy to prepare!

Anjali Singh - Jan. 19, 2023, 1:27 p.m.

I wanted to know if you soak your pumpkin seeds before roasting them.

PUL Team - Jan. 20, 2023, 5:18 a.m.

Hi Anjali, a lovely question! We usually don't soak our nuts or seeds if we're roasting or baking them, and mainly soak them if we're just snacking on them as-is. In case you're interested and haven't already seen it, we have an article with more information on soaking here: pickuplimes.com/article/benef… 😃

Anjali - Jan. 22, 2023, 1:21 p.m.

Actually, I did read the soaking article and that's where I learnt about the importance of soaking your grains or nuts and seeds. Thank you so much for the reply, it helped me know better.

food lover - Jan. 4, 2023, 4:32 p.m.

Hi, I can not find puffed quinoa. is there a way to make this at home using regular quinoa?

PUL Team - Jan. 4, 2023, 10:29 p.m.

Hey food lover, great Q, and I wouldn't advise it. Puffed rice or puffed spelt (or any puffed grain) would be a suitable alternative, otherwise, I'd consider simply omitting it. It definitely isn't necessary 🤓

Priya - March 4, 2023, 7:40 p.m.

Hi PUL Team,
Is puffed quinoa the same as popped quinoa ? I saw that you can make it at home by simply heating the quinoa on a stove top, and it begins to pop. Why wouldn’t you advise it ?

PUL Team - March 5, 2023, 11:32 p.m.

Hey Priya, some people may use "puffed" and "popped" interchangeably. We just haven't tried making it at home ourselves yet so we can't guarantee the outcome is the same as the ingredient we used, but you're welcome to give it a try if you'd like! And if you do, let us know how it goes 😃

Priya - April 17, 2023, 11:13 p.m.

Hey, I ended up making the popped quinoa. It took a bit longer than expected but totally worth it. It added a really nice crunch to the granola so I'm really glad I didn't omit it.

Angela - Oct. 30, 2022, 5:24 p.m.

Definitely a staple in our household, so delicious. Thank you! 😊

PUL Team - Nov. 1, 2022, 6:36 a.m.

Thank you, Angela!

Tem Hayr - Sept. 25, 2022, 9:58 p.m.

Hello!
I’m just wondering what that beautiful looking tea was? Thanks x

PUL Team - Sept. 28, 2022, 8:24 p.m.

Hey there, Tem, if we remember correctly it was a generic black tea. We've enjoyed this granola with many types of tea before though 😃

Stephanie - Sept. 20, 2022, 8:21 p.m.

I really love this recipe it has been a staple in our household for the last year. We enjoy it on its on or in yoghurt or smoothie bowls. I would just add that I mix it all in one bowl to save on extra dishes, dried ingredients first and wet second. And I also had the hemp seeds in before baking. Thanks for this great recipe. Are there any nutritional benefits from not toasting the hemp seeds?

PUL Team - Sept. 21, 2022, 11:32 p.m.

Hi Stephanie, so glad it's being enjoyed, and thank you for the question. Roasting seeds can impact some of their nutrients, although they both still make for an incredibly wholesome choice. For example, some heat unstable nutrients such as B-vitamins and carotenoids are lower in roasted seeds than in raw counterparts. Heat stable nutrients, such as fibre, protein, and minerals tend to be similar between the two. Some other nutrients, such as phenols, flavonoids, and antioxidant properties may improve after roasting. There's an interesting research paper on pumpkin seeds (not hemp seeds) here if you're interested: https://www.frontiersin.org/a…. We hope this helps for now 😊

Sarah - Aug. 17, 2022, 10:20 a.m.

My go-to granola for many years now!

Livia - July 31, 2022, 6:46 p.m.

This is my favourite recipe of yours so far! The granola tasted amazing, it’s perfectly sweetened I’m obsessed! You absolutely have to try it:) 100% recommend, it goes with everything
Lots of love from france

PUL Team - July 31, 2022, 9:32 p.m.

Oh, Livia, it means so much - thank you! Sending hugs to France 🤗

Kim - July 8, 2022, 12:43 p.m.

I love this recipe. For the past 2 years I have been using your granola recipes, and it just tastes so much better than what you get at the shops. I definitely recommend all of your granola recipes and encourage people to try making their own at home. It is so easy and worth it 👌

PUL Team - July 9, 2022, 2:12 a.m.

We appreciate the kind words so much, Kim, and are so happy the granola recipes are being enjoyed!

Lily - Feb. 24, 2022, 1:39 a.m.

Watched the Pick Up Limes video for this mango granola, and let me tell you, it really inspired me to go make some!! I totally eyeballed all the ingredients, using whatever I had on hand, and it turned out SO GOOD! I’ve never enjoyed granola as much as I did this time! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Thank you Pick Up Limes :))

PUL Team - Feb. 24, 2022, 9:48 p.m.

Woop woop 🥳 A huge thank YOU, Lily, for the glowing feedback and review!

Shannon - Feb. 3, 2022, 1:36 a.m.

I don’t ever eat granola, not ever. But something about your video made me want to try this and I LOVE it with my yogurt and some apples in the morning. I puffed some millet because I didn’t have any quinoa and I omitted the sugar because I don’t like things too sweet. It’s perfect. I can’t get enough of it. Thank you!

PUL Team - Feb. 3, 2022, 5:42 a.m.

Awe Shannon, we're so flattered! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the granola 🤗

Anne-Sophie - Dec. 10, 2021, 11:40 a.m.

Have been making this granola for months now. We absolutely love it. Thank you so much for this recipe and congratulations on your engagement. <3

PUL Team - Dec. 11, 2021, 9:18 p.m.

Oh, Anne-Sophie, thank you for the kind words and wishes! It means so much 😊

Kayla - Dec. 5, 2021, 5:37 a.m.

Yum!! A favourite for me and my children. Thank you. X

Bindiya M Ganatra - Nov. 29, 2021, 7:01 a.m.

Dear PUL Team & Sadia,

Thanks so much for all of your hard work and information dense website. You guys are incredibly kind and helpful in pointing me to a healthier lifestyle!!

For the Crunch Almond & Mango Granola recipe, can I use puffed millet instead of puffed quinoa? If so, do I add the puffed millet to the granola after it bakes in the oven or before I bake it in the oven? I don't want the puffed millet to burn.

Lots of Love & Appreciation,
Bindiya Ganatra
Mississippi, USA
11/28/2021 at 11:59 PM - Mississippi time zone :-)

PUL Team - Dec. 1, 2021, 3:01 a.m.

HI Bindiya, aw you're too kind! Thank you for taking the time to share the glowing feedback 😊

We haven't tested this one out with puffed millet, but it's possible to use millet in place of the quinoa if desired. Either option for when to add it could work, but adding the puffed millet at the beginning and baking until the granola is golden brown may be easier. Lowering the oven temperature slightly, keeping a closer eye on the granola, and stirring it occasionally may help if your oven tends to be on the stronger side. Do let us know if you experiment with it 😃

Julianna - Nov. 3, 2021, 10:08 p.m.

Let me just say I am not a granola person. Nor am I a coconut or mango person, so I really don't know why I made this except that I watched the video and found dried mangos on sale at the grocery store. I figured my husband likes granola so what the heck. The aromas what filled my kitchen while baking were heavenly so when it was done I HAD to try some. This may very well be the best thing I've made in a long time. It is scrumptious! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful recipes.

PUL Team - Nov. 4, 2021, 3:45 p.m.

Aw we're smiling from ear to ear! Thank YOU, Julianna, for the glowing review 🤩

Zsuzsanna - Oct. 5, 2021, 7:31 p.m.

It got a bit darker than on the picture but I guess it is my oven’s fault. Otherwise lovely flavours and great texture

PUL Team - Oct. 6, 2021, 3:51 a.m.

Thanks for taking the time to share, Zsuzsanna! Ovens can indeed vary slightly and granola continues to cook a bit as it cools. We'd recommend either turning down the temperature slightly or taking out the granola when it's lightly golden if you give it another try ☺️

Zsuzsanna - Oct. 6, 2021, 8:25 a.m.

I will do that next time, thank you for the advice. :)

Lara - Oct. 4, 2021, 3:23 p.m.

So good!!! I’ve made it 5 times already!!

PUL Team - Oct. 4, 2021, 6:29 p.m.

So glad the granola is being enjoyed, Lara!

Cath - Sept. 15, 2021, 3:30 p.m.

Very delicious, I really like the combination of nuts, spices, and dries fruit in this one. I've already made it twice, and will go back to it for sure :3

Joasia - Aug. 23, 2021, 6:07 p.m.

Absolute favourite at my house! I make it on a regular basis, switching up nut butters and dried fruit.

Varda - Aug. 16, 2021, 11:38 p.m.

Hey Sadia!

This is by far, my most favourite granola recipe. I make it every month and unsurprisingly it lasts not more than 2-3 days (no matter the batch size!!). Might I add — I love you as much as your genius work! Keep being your fabulous self. XOXO

PUL Team - Aug. 18, 2021, 4:59 a.m.

Aww thank you for the kind words, Varda, it means so much! So happy you're enjoying this one 💚

Sasha - Aug. 7, 2021, 11 p.m.

This is soooo good! Sadia, you are a vegan queen! Thank you!

Débora (from Brazil) - Aug. 5, 2021, 10:24 p.m.

I absolutely love this granola recipe!
It's so good it doesn't last a week here at home.
I have even done it and gave it to friends ❤️
After learning this recipe I never bought granola in the supermarket again.

PUL Team - Aug. 6, 2021, 1:43 a.m.

Aw what a huge compliment, Débora! It means so much to hear 🌻

Karunya - Aug. 3, 2021, 3:14 a.m.

Made this for the first time, and it was such a hit! Thanks for this lovely recipe, I am waiting to finish this and try the other granola recipes soon. I have one question regarding the toppings, I often hear people suggesting not to combine acidic fruits like berries with sugar fruits like banana. Could you please throw some light on that? Thank you.

PUL Team - Aug. 5, 2021, 4:23 a.m.

So happy you're enjoying the granola, Karunya! We haven't seen very much research on food combining, although we haven't had a chance to look into it in depth.

We personally enjoy berries with bananas and find it can be rather wholesome. When possible, try to check the sources of such claims. Such as where are they getting this information from, is it a source that can be trusted, which research papers have they come from? It does require a bit of hunting sometimes, but it also helps you better decide which sources we can trust 😊

Djurdjica Despotovic - July 31, 2021, 9:27 p.m.

The best granola recipe which I always come back, after experimenting with others.

Andrea - July 24, 2021, 10:20 p.m.

My favourite go to granola! I've made this over 4 times now. Haven't bought regular granola since. I just do oats instead of puffed rice and leave out the mango because I normally don't have any , but it's so good! Like eat it as is good 😅

PUL Team - July 26, 2021, 8:27 p.m.

We're so glad you're enjoying the granola, Andrea!

Rachael - July 24, 2021, 9:58 p.m.

We make this granola every week. It’s the BEST!. We shared the recipe with family and friends and they absolutely love it. Also we made this for my Gma who never ate breakfast… now eats this every morning with yogurt!

PUL Team - July 26, 2021, 8:22 p.m.

Aww so kind of you to make it for your grandma, Rachael! We're so happy to hear the granola is being enjoyed 🤗

Maria - July 24, 2021, 6:49 p.m.

Made this countless times. Love this for breakfast; so easy to make and super healthy too. Highly recommend.

Naz - July 24, 2021, 6:41 p.m.

In love with this granola! My nephew enjoys it straight out of the jar. Making more tomorrow (husband’s request) ❤️

Sonia - July 23, 2021, 2:16 p.m.

One of my favorites next to the fig granola <3. I sometimes half the sugar and still tastes great!

Kathleen - July 23, 2021, 3:16 a.m.

This granola is SO GOOD. I love all the different textures. The color of the pumpkin seeds and mango is so bright and inviting for a nutritious breakfast or snack. The almond butter mixture is a delicious caramel flavor that I love!

PUL Team - July 25, 2021, 2:37 a.m.

Woo! We're so happy you're enjoying the granola, Kathleen 😊

Katie I. - July 11, 2021, 3:12 p.m.

My favorite granola recipe! I eat it just about every day for breakfast with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit and it never gets old.

Charlotte - July 9, 2021, 12:57 p.m.

We have loved this granola recipe ever since I first made it and come back to it again and again! I always use puffed rice in the place of puffed quinoa as I cannot find it locally to where I live and I think the combo of two different grains within a granola recipe makes for a delicious change. I have always been a big fan of dried mango and last time I made this I also added in some chopped dried apricots which paired exceedingly well. Highly recommend!

PUL Team - July 14, 2021, 9:41 p.m.

So glad you're enjoying the granola, Charlotte! Thank you for the review 😊

Victoria - July 8, 2021, 8:05 p.m.

This is now my go-to granola recipe! I usually do a combination of whatever nuts I have around (I prefer sliced almonds, pistachios for a pop of green, pumpkin seeds, chopped hazelnuts) and dried cranberries. I also like doing puffed rice instead of puffed quinoa. This granola also burns easily (may be my oven) but I had to do it 25F lower and take it out a few minutes earlier. The nut butter makes this such a decadent and satisfying granola without being too heavy.

PUL Team - July 12, 2021, 7:47 a.m.

We're so happy to hear you've been enjoying the granola, Victoria! Ovens can definitely take a bit of experimenting to figure out what works since they're all so unique 😊

Katie - July 8, 2021, 7:58 p.m.

I absolutely LOVE this granola recipe! I have made it over and over, mixing it up with different nuts and dried fruit sometimes. Such a good basic recipe that makes a crispy and not to crunchy granola.

Louise Magnusson🇸🇪 - July 3, 2021, 7:51 p.m.

Nice, crispy granola. It’s really pleasant to emphasise the deep, earthy flavour with almond butter. I manage still to get a good result without adding any brown sugar, which is a big benefit for me as a diabetic👏🏼
I didn’t have puffed quinoa, so I replaced it with rolled rye flakes. And I used dried apricots instead of mango. I think that this granola will be perfect for smoothie bowls with tropical or sweet sour fruits and berries 💡

PUL Team - July 3, 2021, 10:08 p.m.

So glad you were able to adapt the recipe, Louise, thank you for sharing 🙂

Wietse - July 1, 2021, 1:37 p.m.

Coming from the Netherlands myself, where do you buy stuff like puffed quinoa, almond butter and old-fashioned rolled oats? I can never find stuff like this at the Albert Heijn! Love your videos and recipes! Alvast bedankt :)

PUL Team - July 1, 2021, 7:26 p.m.

Hoi Wietse, we get all of the above from Albert Heijn, but we go to an AH XL, so perhaps this is why they carry a larger selection? If you'd prefer to purchase online, de Notenshop also has a wide array of products at a reasonable price. If you'd like to make almond butter yourself at home, we also have a recipe you can find by searching for "Almond Butter". I hope this helps for now 😊

Jackie - June 14, 2021, 12:31 a.m.

Oh my gosh this is bomb... Thank you so much for this recipe! I ate it fresh this morning with almond milk and fresh blueberries. And I also have a love for chocolate Sadia, so I included dark chocolate in the granola and it was perfect : )

PUL Team - June 14, 2021, 6:22 a.m.

Mmm that sounds absolutely delicious, Jackie, thank you for sharing 😍🤤

Rowena Ravenclaw - May 26, 2021, 12:53 a.m.

This granola is so addictive! Because I could not find puffed quinoa and cannot have almond butter, I substituted kamut khorasan puffs and sunflower seed butter. Also, I used sunflower seeds in lieu of the almonds and pumpkin seeds, as well as agave for the maple syrup. Finally, I did not have brown sugar, so I just added about a quarter teaspoon of molasses to cane sugar. I could finish the whole thing by myself, it is that good!

PUL Team - May 26, 2021, 4:56 a.m.

All wonderful substitutions, Rowena! Thank you for sharing. We're so thrilled to hear the positive review ✨😊

Nadida - May 17, 2021, 4:28 p.m.

Hello Sadia & PUL team!
I would like to make this recipe while watching my weight, do you think it'll be okay if use 1/8th a cup of oil and 1/8th a cup of brown sugar instead of the suggested quantities?
Thanks!
Nadida

PUL Team - May 20, 2021, 10:19 p.m.

Hey there, Nadida! You can totally try with less oil and sugar, the granola may just be a tad less sweet and crunchy. You may also be interested in our healthiest granola ever if you haven't already seen it - if so you can search for this recipe on the website 🤗

Margie - May 11, 2021, 2:41 a.m.

Can i substitute the vegetable oil for coconut oil?

PUL Team - May 11, 2021, 5:41 a.m.

Hey Margie, great question! Feel free to sub the vegetable oil for coconut oil. It may be easier if you melt the coconut oil first 🙂
