  • 6
    pretzel sticks
  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL)
    peanut butter

Optional garnish

  1. Using a sharp paring knife, make an incision along the length of each date, but try not to cut the date in half.
  2. Remove the pits from the dates.
  3. Break apart the pretzel and place the pieces inside the empty dates.
  4. Dollop the peanut butter over the pretzel.
  5. If desired, drizzle the filled dates with melted chocolate and a sprinkle of sea salt. Enjoy!

  • Store these dates at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  • Note that if not enjoyed the same day, the pretzels will likely lose their crunch.

Thank you so much for this recipe! As someone who doesn’t really like dates, I’ve found that this is a perfect way to incorporate them into my diet. I used unsweetened peanut butter as I already find dates to be very sweet. Overall a fantastic afternoon snack at work!

PUL Team - May 23, 2024, 3:16 a.m.

So glad that you're enjoying the stuffed date recipe, Bina, thank you!

Joanna - March 19, 2024, 1:35 a.m.

I like it but I prefer the superseed date. It has a bit extra to it. This was really sweet for me

Kate - March 11, 2024, 12:25 a.m.

Super addictive! Great for a quick snack or a small dessert

Georgiana - Feb. 2, 2024, 8:45 p.m.

So, so, so gooood! 🤍

Also works with crackers if the pretzels are not available.

If there was ground cinnamon in it it would be good

ais - Oct. 5, 2023, 11:13 p.m.

I think it is the best dessert ever you can make really good desserts

ais - Aug. 17, 2023, 10:49 p.m.

It was gooey but I liked it lots. I think it would be good if it was a restaurant dessert.

A go-to snack…I just don’t tell my husband they’re vegan!

Bought a 5kg carton of dates online and was surprised how much I got, so I‘ve been eating this a bunch: I keep a jar of cashew nut butter, a little jar of dates, and a spoon on my desk for whenever I feel hungry, it‘s amazing 😍

PUL Team - April 7, 2023, 8:50 p.m.

Mmm sounds lovely, Emilia, so glad the recipe is being enjoyed!

Elyse - Jan. 19, 2023, 5:19 p.m.

Always a crowd pleaser! If I put it out at a gathering, the plate clears pretty quickly! Everyone, especially, loves the surprise of the crunch from the pretzel.

PUL Team - Jan. 20, 2023, 7:46 a.m.

So excited to hear, Elyse - thank you!

This is by far the most nutrient dense, easy to understand recipes and by far tastiest vegan food I've ever followed. What a huge resource to all the world. I not only need this for my goals but my medical needs.

PUL Team - Dec. 8, 2022, 7:17 a.m.

Thank you for the glowing review, Kristi, it means so much!

My absolute favourite snack now

Jigya - May 26, 2022, 1:29 a.m.

Love this snack and takes only 1 min to make. I skip the pretzel stick and just stuff the date with peanut butter and sprinkle some hemp seeds on top. This is a great afternoon pick me up.

PUL Team - May 27, 2022, 6:26 a.m.

Awe we're so happy to hear, Jigya, thank you!

These remind me of my favorite cookie:chocolate chip with caramel bits and pretzels. Bonus is I can make these in the Texas summer without turning on an oven. I went for a generous chocolate drizzle :)

Awe we're so happy the stuffed dates are being enjoyed, Amy, thank you for sharing!

Dee - July 25, 2021, 11:41 a.m.

Made these today😊 I didn't have pretzels so I subbed it with some toasted pine nuts which was.. Interesting?😂I think if I were to go with nuts - toasted walnuts would've probably been better 😂😂
The dates + almond butter combo was delicious😍. I mixed some table salt with the almond butter so the seasoning is evenly spread out. Will definitely make again !

PUL Team - July 27, 2021, 1:23 a.m.

Thank you for sharing, Dee! Do let us know if you give the recipe a try with pretzel sticks 😃

Akisame - July 24, 2021, 7:11 p.m.
