These oaty banana squares are naturally sweetened with banana and made with iron-fortified baby cereal for a boost of iron, a key nutrient for little ones during the first years of life. They’re more dense and oat-y than fluffy, so they’re best suited for older babies and toddlers who are already comfortable with textured finger foods. Sprinkle different toppings over separate sections so you can offer a slightly different flavour each time, or keep it simple with just one or two toppings if preferred. Once baked, cut into squares and serve as is, or pair with a spoonful of unsweetened yogurt for added moisture.

Making this recipe on repeat. I added ground, semi chopped walnuts because I did not have the cereals and dark chocolate chips and my kids look forward to eating this for breakfast. Super yummy. It’s a favorite from a 2 year old to 70 year old in our house. Thank you!!

I will be trying this recipe for my 18 month old baby since he has become quiet picky these day. Definitely looking forward to more baby recipes with the cute bear icon. Love it PUL!

We love this recipe! I made it twice. However I don’t know why, the milk/oat flour is really off for me. The first time I made it I put the right amount of soy milk, and ended with a very thin batter, almost like the soy milk. I doubled the oat flour and flaxseed and it was perfect. The second time, I just put half the milk (like 200mL) and it was good. Maybe it’s because I ground my own oat?

Heyy Myriam! So happy to hear you’ve been enjoying these ☺️ it could be that the fineness of your homemade oat flour is affecting how much liquid it absorbs. If the oats are ground a little more coarsely, they may absorb liquid differently, which could explain the thinner batter. Thanks for sharing what worked for you! We’ll keep this in mind, and we’re glad you found a way to get the texture just right 🙌

My baby (10 months) very much disliked the texture - so maybe something to try again in a couple of months.

I hope you're going to add more recipes aimed at little kids. Fortunately, my toddler likes almost everything. The only thing I have to consider with each meal is the texture—whether her little mouth, still with only half of all the teeth, can handle it. So thank you for recipes like this one :)
