Harissa Roasted Red Bell Pepper Pasta

Premium

Main

This recipe came together after picking a bunch of kale from the garden. I had a jar of roasted peppers in the pantry and some harissa in the fridge, and the combo turned out so comforting and flavourful. The sauce is spicy, creamy, and bold, with just the right amount of heat, though you can use a bit less harissa if you’re not into spice. It’s saucy, satisfying, and packed with goodness.

This is soooo good! We made it last week and again this week (but doubling the recipe). Super tasty, thanks for the recipe! 💖

I’ve made the harissa red pepper sauce 5 times in the last few weeks. As soon as I’ve finished, have to make another batch. I’m not a fan of tomato based pasta sauces, so have never eaten much pasta. That’s all changed now. So delicious!! Thank you

Adding: I don’t add the optional extra agave, it’s perfect without.

Aww so glad you've been enjoying the pasta, Chris! This is such a compliment ☺️

I felt like something was missing tbh... The sauce was pretty light generally and I did put less harissa than the recommended amount (as I can't handle the spice), but I don't know if that was the reason... Overall, a nice recipe, it just didn't tingle my taste buds...

Heyy Chrysiida, thanks so much for sharing this feedback! The harissa is one of the main flavour drivers in the sauce, so reducing it can make things taste a bit milder overall. If you happen to have leftovers and want to add a bit more oomph without adding heat, you could try: a squeeze of extra lemon juice or a splash of balsamic vinegar for brightness, a pinch more smoked paprika or nutritional yeast for depth and savouriness, or garnishing with freshly cracked black pepper, chili oil, or a drizzle of olive oil. Thanks again for giving the recipe a try, and happy cooking ☺️

Delicious, nutritious, easy and healthy, the perfect weekday dinner :-) it was a bit on the sweet side (maybe the combination of agave and the paprika) so next time I'll try it without the added sugar.

Thank you for another super quick, delicious and nutritious harissa pasta dish. The other one with peas is already one of our favourites, this one is too now :)
