Very simple yet very flavourful. Love it, this is one my go to curries. This (or a very similar recipe) was the first ever PUL recipe recommended to me years ago, and I am so glad someone introduced me to PUL and Sadia. 🫶

PUL Team - April 16, 2024, 11:01 p.m.

Aww we're so happy you've been part of the community since then, Aruna! ☺️

Patrycja Klodnicka - March 18, 2024, 1:56 p.m.

This is one of the best curry I've ever made. Sooo delicious 🥰

Joyce van R - March 17, 2024, 6:41 p.m.

This is one of the first recipes I've ever made from your website, years ago. It's still one we make regularly. It's nutritious, flavourful and comforting.

Olivia D - March 17, 2024, 7:28 a.m.

I've made this recipe for years, multiple times, for friends and for meal prep. It's AWESOME. There's something about making a curry with the whole spices as well. So easy and so good.

PUL Team - March 19, 2024, 12:28 a.m.

Woop woop! So glad that you've been enjoying the Potato & Green Pea Curry, Olivia, thank you 🤩

Eirini P - Jan. 30, 2024, 2:17 p.m.

Maddy S - Dec. 3, 2023, 12:38 a.m.

the game changing element here is definitely the whole seeds. highly recommend!

Marion - Nov. 7, 2023, 12:57 p.m.

Simple and tasty, verry comforting

Geetha Lakshmi - Sept. 3, 2023, 1:46 p.m.

Quick and delicious 😋
Question- I see many recipes uses Veg Bouillon cubes - Can I replace it with homemade vegetable stock cubes? Do you have any recipes for that? Would love to make and stock it in freezer so I can substitute for bouillon cubes (store bought ones has palm fat and so many other unknown ingredients). Thanks PUL 😊

PUL Team - Sept. 5, 2023, 5:22 a.m.

Hey Geetha! The vegetable bouillon cube and water (1½ cups/360 mL for 4 servings) can be substituted for equal parts vegetable stock or broth. We'd recommend giving the recipe a taste test in this case, and adding some salt and other spices if you think it needs it! We have a recipe for vegetable broth here: pickuplimes.com/recipe/homema… and have noted down the idea for a vegetable bouillon recipe since we don't have one yet 😎 we hope this helps for now!

Geetha Lakshmi - Sept. 5, 2023, 6:59 a.m.

Awesome! Thanks PUL team 😊

patryk - Aug. 5, 2023, 3:57 p.m.

Just made this for the first time. It’s easy to make, doesn’t take long, and it’s so delicious. Will definitely be having again.

Nouran - June 19, 2023, 8:45 p.m.

One of my favourites! So quick and easy to make. I grind the coriander seeds a little first, I find it brings out the flavour more but I also don’t like the taste of it whole

PUL Team - June 20, 2023, 7:41 a.m.

Mmm sounds lovely, Nouran - thank you! 💛

O F - April 30, 2023, 10:01 p.m.

Lovely recipe

Sasha - April 4, 2023, 1:57 a.m.

This curry is amazing!!! Have you ever tried it with sweet potatoes instead? I want to try it but I’m afraid it’s not gonna be as good!

PUL Team - April 4, 2023, 4:49 a.m.

Hey Sasha, we haven't tested it out but you could! Just be sure to give the curry a taste and adjust the spices if you need 🙂

Eirini - March 22, 2023, 3:41 p.m.

This is excellent! Soooo tasty. The coconut milk really elevates the flavour of the dish.

Otilia - March 16, 2023, 9:08 p.m.

Perfect for cold winter days

Miri - March 8, 2023, 7:01 a.m.

This became a family favourite from the first time we cooked it. It's simple enough to make on those nights when we come home from work and aren't feeling inspired to cook at all, and the ingredients are staples we always have on hand. Non-vegans love it too.

Pau - Feb. 25, 2023, 8:42 p.m.

Wow! So delicious and simple ! Taste like from restaurant 😁 it opened new world of flavours

PUL Team - Feb. 26, 2023, 3:13 a.m.

Elisa - Sept. 10, 2022, 4:51 p.m.

This curry has become a staple at home, we’ve made it at léase twice a month for the last year. Thank you so much! We send you a big smile from the Canary Islands

PUL Team - Sept. 11, 2022, 4:31 a.m.

Awe we're so glad the curry is being enjoyed, Elisa! Hugs to the Canary Islands 🤗

Courtney - Aug. 14, 2022, 3:24 a.m.

Hi Sadia,
I'm a very reluctant cook who loves Indian food and curries especially. Even I can make this and look like a pro. It was a little lightly spiced with powdered spices, so I got some whole spices which made a lovely difference. We also find that the flavors meld and intensify the second and third days, if it lasts that long. Thank you for all your delightful recipes. Courtney

PS - I'm a giant fan of really simple (5-7 ingredient) dishes, so you might want to consider videos on that. Another idea would be to create some videos about making your own spice mixtures and how they can best be used. Thanks again!

PUL Team - Aug. 14, 2022, 5:07 p.m.

Hi there, Courtney, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with it! We're so glad the recipes are being enjoyed and we've noted down the ideas for future content. In the meantime, in case you haven't already seen yet and are interested, you might like our 10 ingredients or less recipe filter: pickuplimes.com/recipe/?sb=&a… or the spices in our homemade staples filter: pickuplimes.com/recipe/?sb=&a… 🙂

Courtney - Aug. 14, 2022, 6:02 p.m.

Thank you. Both will be really useful!

Lois - June 30, 2022, 10:24 p.m.

I’ve made this curry a few times now, honestly one of my favourites!!

Erika Baker - June 25, 2022, 12:47 a.m.

Loved it!!! Perfect blend of flavors and just spicy enough without being too spiced!

PUL Team - June 25, 2022, 5:51 p.m.

Oh, so lovely to hear, Erika! Thanks a bunch 🙂

María - April 26, 2022, 1:54 p.m.

Hi Sadia! Can you freeze this curry? I'm currently stocking on post-partum meals and this looks delicious :)

PUL Team - April 26, 2022, 9:24 p.m.

Hey María! In our experience, defrosted potatoes don't keep their form so well and are a bit gritty, so we haven't tried freezing this one yet. Let us know how it goes if you give it a try 😊

Alex - April 23, 2022, 1:38 p.m.

Let me just say - no often do I find dishes that satisfy the ALL three of our kids and us parents. It's been a success and a much anticipated dish time and time again with plates and the pot literally licked clean. Thank you!

PUL Team - April 23, 2022, 11:44 p.m.

Such a huge compliment, Alex, thank you!

Janet - April 10, 2022, 7:33 p.m.

if you only have ground spices, do you use the same amount as the whole spices for this recipe?

PUL Team - April 11, 2022, 1:09 a.m.

Hey Janet! Fresh ground spices tend to have a more concentrated burst of flavour than whole, so we'd recommend starting with less. You can always add more to taste 😊

Ani - March 15, 2022, 7:06 p.m.

This is soooo delicious and creamy <3 didn't have garam masala so used only simple curry powder instead, but it was so good, nevertheless! Thx, Sadia!

PUL Team - March 16, 2022, 3:47 p.m.

So glad to hear, Ani!

Alisha - March 13, 2022, 4:43 p.m.

This curry is incredible! A quick and easy recipe packed full of veggies. It is perfect for the cold weather because it is so comforting and warm.

PUL Team - March 14, 2022, 2:05 a.m.

We're so happy the curry is being enjoyed, Alisha, it means so much 😊

Rama Balage - March 12, 2022, 8:39 p.m.

Hi Sadia.. I came across your videos on YouTube a few days ago and saw the video for this recipe. I made this today and it was so incredibly delicious. I have made a version of this dish for so many years but the spinach and coconut milk just made it heaven. I skipped the buillon cubes and garlic. We had it with brown rice and corn tortilla chips for a little crunch. :) So excited to try the blueberry oatmeal for breakfast tomorrow.

PUL Team - March 13, 2022, 3:49 p.m.

Hey there, Rama, welcome to the PUL community 😃 We hope you enjoy the oatmeal as well!

Lindsay 🇺🇸 - Feb. 28, 2022, 6:35 p.m.

Oh my word! I should have quadrupled this recipe!!!! It is amazing! Just the right amounts of savory and a hint of sweetness from the coconut milk and onions. I skipped the bouillon because it contains msg, so I just added some salt until it was perfect.

PUL Team - Feb. 28, 2022, 8:45 p.m.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the curry, Lindsay, we're so glad it was enjoyed ✨

Lynn - Feb. 20, 2022, 5:07 p.m.

Greetings from Zutphen! I am just loving your recipes! I have two questions. Could you please share where you buy your spices like turmeric, Garamond masala, etc. I notice that my spices (like turmeric) have a very different color to what you use in your video. And is the brown rice you serve ‘zilvervlies rijst’? Thank you so much. Lynn

PUL Team - Feb. 20, 2022, 10:59 p.m.

Hey Lynn! Our spices tend to be from our local took, although we get it from there because we buy in bulk. The spices from your local grocery store like AH would also be great. If you feel yours might be duller in colour or flavour it may indicate the spice isn't as fresh, so perhaps checking your local store for a new spice is one idea if desired. Although turmeric can also vary in colour from brand to brand and that's also quite normal. The brown rice is indeed the same as zilvervlies rijst. We hope this helps for now and send our warmest regards to Zutphen 😊

Emily - Feb. 20, 2022, 7:49 a.m.

So. Good! Really easy to make too and that squeeze of lemon at the end worked so well. Another fabulous recipe, thank you! 👌🏻

PUL Team - Feb. 20, 2022, 5:29 p.m.

Beyond thrilled to hear the curry is being enjoyed, Emily 😃

Kathryn - Jan. 13, 2022, 10:07 a.m.

Love making this potato & pea curry as it calls for all basic ingredients that I always have on hand (frozen organic spinach & peas) & it tastes fantastic too! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful recipes.

PUL Team - Jan. 13, 2022, 8:47 p.m.

Hi Kathryn, awe it means so much - thank you!

Diana Alcantara Nunes - Jan. 12, 2022, 5:44 p.m.

the best comforting meal!

Tal - Jan. 4, 2022, 4:59 p.m.

Was missing some ingredients... made it without the bulion cube, chickpeas, spinach and cayenne (thouh I added other spices), and it tasted great!

PUL Team - Jan. 4, 2022, 5:08 p.m.

Lovely modifications, Tal, thanks for sharing 🤗

Vera - Nov. 24, 2021, 2:22 p.m.

LOVE this recipe, so delicious! My 1.5 year old daughter (Robin!) is a massive fan too, I've never seen her eat so much food at once. Thanks for sharing!

Amy - Oct. 27, 2021, 9:21 p.m.

I've made this curry a fair few times now and its delicious! A family favourite with both adults and kids. It's my first experience cooking with spice seeds instead of the ground version and wow! The depth of flavour it adds is amazing. Perfect comforting meal now the weather is getting colder. Thank you so much Sadia 💕

PUL Team - Oct. 29, 2021, 5:08 a.m.

We're so thrilled the recipe was enjoyed, Amy! Spice seeds are one of our favourite ways to add some depth 😃

Potatoes and curry....two of my favorite things in the world! I've made this recipe multiple times because it is just that good.

Jessica Rietveld - Aug. 1, 2021, 8:45 p.m.

This curry is packed with flavour. When I made this the first time I had not expected that a curry this quick and easy to make could be so flavourful. Both the spices and other ingredients are part of my kitchen stock - A great pantry staple that my kids can also more than appreciate. Even better when prepped the night before. Definitely one of my favourite curries to make and eat.

PUL Team - Aug. 4, 2021, 6:52 a.m.

We're so glad you're enjoying the recipe, Jessica! It means so much ☺️

Hadeel - July 28, 2021, 7:23 p.m.

What I love about your recipes is that they are always rich with flavours, this one is not an exception! As always very delicious! I added lemon grass while sautéing the onions and kept it while boiling the potatoes then removed it (I learned it from your recipe Coconut Thai Green Curry noodles Soup)

PUL Team - July 29, 2021, 6:47 p.m.

Ooo a lovely idea to add lemongrass to this one, Hadeel, thank you for sharing the review ☺️

Mithun BH - July 24, 2021, 6:33 p.m.

I tried it once and it was sooo good, I've been hooked ever since!

Julia - July 24, 2021, 5:26 p.m.

My partner and I make this curry all the time, it's our all-time favorite and we usually have all the ingredients at home. Sometimes we use frozen spinach and it still turns out great. Love it with the homemade naan too!

PUL Team - July 25, 2021, 11:25 p.m.

Mmm love this one with our homemade naan too! Thanks for the review, Julia 🙂

Vivian H. - July 23, 2021, 11:27 a.m.

I had it about 100 times because it's to rich and creamy yet so healthy.

sal - July 16, 2021, 9:48 p.m.

today i made this for the first time and i absolutely loved it! i've been vegan for about one month now and your recipes have inspired me so much and make me look forward to going to the kitchen. I made this curry for dinner today and my family (not vegan) LOVED it :))) thank you so much for all your hard work and effort, i really appreciate it!

PUL Team - July 18, 2021, 2:26 a.m.

You're too kind, Sal, it means so much! Thank you for allowing PUL to be part of your vegan journey ✨🌻

Bridgette B - July 15, 2021, 10:13 p.m.

I am excited every time I make this. I wake up excited knowing I have leftovers, and that I'm going to have something so delicious and flavorful to so easily reheat. The base tastes similar to the curry my dad made when I was little, so I'm hit in the face with nostalgia every time I eat it. And when I make naan with it, ohhhh hoho it's just so good. My roommates always beg me to share it with them.

PUL Team - July 18, 2021, 2:13 a.m.

We absolutely adore the personal connection you've shared with this one, Bridgette! Thank you so much for the wonderful review 🥰

Maria - July 13, 2021, 1:04 p.m.

I had actually never had nor made a curry before this recipe and honestly, this is one of my favorite things to make. It is ABSOLUTELY delicious and warms the tummy! I love love love this recipe and I think it is just so inviting and easy to make, even if you've never made a curry.

PUL Team - July 18, 2021, 12:33 a.m.

Aww this means so much, Maria, thanks a bunch for taking the time to share. We're so honoured to hear 🤩

Eliora - July 9, 2021, 10:15 a.m.

This is my go-to easy comfort food now and it tastes great every time!

Matt - July 2, 2021, 3:17 a.m.

Very tasty, though next time I will lightly crush the cumin coriander and mustard seeds and toast them off first in a dry frypan then add them later with the other spices, I found that when fried off whole at the start per the recipe it leant an odd texture to the finished dish. Otherwise it was fabulous.

PUL Team - July 2, 2021, 6:51 a.m.

Thank you for the review, Matt! Whole seeds indeed give a slight crunch and aromatic hints which may not be for everyone. So glad the recipe was enjoyed regardless 🙂

Vanessa Mailhot - June 22, 2021, 1:10 p.m.
