Inspired by the intricate appearance of babka and kanelbuller, these beautiful, soft buns are swirled with a spiced blueberry jam. If blueberry isn't your jam (see what we did there?), using a chocolate spread or a cinnamon sugar mix would be just as fun.

Oh boy, the results were delicious, but I it was surely a messy process 😂. I had a hard time working on consistency. I also used ground cloves, which worked nicely…. it could have also been that my jamm was too.. watery for this recipe? not sure, I probably worked on that 3h

Thanks for sharing your experience with the buns, Hilal! Ground cloves sound like a lovely touch. If your jam was on the runnier side, that could’ve made shaping trickier since extra moisture can make the dough harder to twist and hold its shape. So glad the end result was still delicious 🫶✨

I tried this recipe with plum jam and it went well with the ginger. I was afraid it would be too strong in the jam so I used less, I like that it's light. I added a little in the middle before cooking.

Mmm plum jam and ginger sounds like such a cozy combo, Léa! Love that you added a little in the middle before cooking too 😍

10 out of 10! At first I was a bit intimidated, because I never really baked with yeast before. But I had so much fun making these😍 and they taste amazing too! Taking them to the office tomorrow, but if I am honest: they are to good to share. I want eat them all by myself 😋😍 Thank you for this recipe! ❤️

Is it possible to replace the butter with a different oil or something?
PUL Team - Oct. 3, 2024, 7:06 p.m.
Hi Maria, we haven’t had a chance to try it ourselves yet, but using a refined coconut oil could be an option. It has a neutral flavour and stays solid at room temperature, which might work well. If you experiment with a liquid oil, the bread may turn out a bit more crumbly and less moist. Hope this helps for now 🤗

Thanks a lot :) maybe I'll have time to try both and compare!

It took us > 2 h to make them and 10 min to eat them 😜.

I made these with a different filling and they were awesome!! I used a speculoos spread and cinnamon sugar sprinkle since we didn’t have jam.

These are the best vegan buns I’ve ever made! I didn’t use any jam, just sugar and cardamom, and I made the dough in a bread maker. Everyone, including non-vegans, loved them!

Such a big compliment, M S, we're thrilled to hear the buns were enjoyed by everyone!
Ricarda - April 27, 2024, 6:26 p.m.
I just made these buns on a cozy Saturday afternoon because not just one but both my flatmates wanted to get rid of their blueberry jam - and what a perfect way to do so! I was a bit too generous with the filling so they didn’t look as neat as in the pictures but they were super tasty nonetheless (and that way the filling added a lot of flavour which is not a negative in my eyes ^^) :D definitely recommend

Love when the stars align like that, Ricarda! So glad that the swirl buns were enjoyed too 🙌
Hanni - April 23, 2024, 1:39 p.m.
Hey, could you add the "dessert" tag to this? 🙈
PUL Team - April 24, 2024, 5:17 p.m.
Hey Hanni! Added 😊✔️

I wish I could post a picture, but they look and taste delicious. Need some selfcontrol to not eat them all at once 🤣
