Hi, Is there a way I can share my subscription with my husband?

Is Dutch processed cocoa powder lower in antioxidants?

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 19, 2026, 3:41 p.m.

Hiii Nithya, yes, Dutch-processed cocoa powder does have fewer antioxidants compared to natural or cacao powder. The alkalizing process that gives it a smoother, less bitter flavour also reduces some of the antioxidants. That said, we often prefer Dutch-processed cocoa powder because it’s sweeter and dissolves easily in liquids, making it perfect for recipes where we want a smooth, rich chocolate flavour without the bitterness of natural cocoa. Hope this helps 🀎
