I have officially made nut milk for the first time ! Simple and delicious. I will drink it on its own I think but will also use it for a smoothy ! This weekend I start to look after my body and mind better - Start with one small good thing and hang on to it and carry on bit by bit day by day build your future as you want it to be ! Found a lovely recipe in Julia Watkins wonderful book Simply Living Well to make truffles with the leftover nut pulp - full of protein and delicious I think - so no waste ! Sadia would definitely approve ;)

The strawberry milk is delicious. Instead of whole almonds, I opted for almond butter. All I had to do was blend everything in the mixer and the milk was ready to serve in no time.

Hi,
This sounds amazing, but I am just wondering. What if I skip the draining steps and leave the pulp in there? Nutritionally it would be a shame to get rid of all the nice fibers from the nuts and the strawberries. Is the reason of draining to get a better texture for the drink, or is there another reason behind?
I am not trying to criticize, only curious:)

Hi there, Julia! Thanks for the question 🤗 The straining is mainly to give the milk a smoother, lighter texture. We personally find the pulp a bit too thick in a drink. If you’d like to keep the fiber, you can skip straining, or save the pulp and add it to smoothies, oatmeal, or soups so nothing goes to waste 🫶
