Swiss chard isn’t always the easiest thing to find at the average grocery store here in the Netherlands, so when my husband’s aunt gave us some from her end-of-summer garden harvest, I was very happy to put it to use. It has a pleasantly earthy flavour that really comes alive with the right finishing touches. Here, the tender greens are cooked with shallot, garlic, and chili, then brightened with lemon and topped with crunchy miso maple almonds (though regular roasted almonds work beautifully as well).
