Lebanese Tabbouleh

Lebanese Tabbouleh is a traditional Middle Eastern salad made with parsley, fine bulgur wheat, tomatoes, onions, and a tangy dressing of lemon juice and olive oil. It is known for its fresh and vibrant flavours, with parsley being the main star, and is often served as a refreshing side dish or mezze.

I used regular sized bulgur so the whole “pour hot water on and cover” cooking method did not work for me. I worked around it by adding more boiling water into a pot and cooking it the way you cook risotto rice. I let the water dehydrate repeatedly and added more if it was drying out too fast.

The flavor was superb. If you like a little sweet surprise in yours to make it even more fantastic, I can recommend adding figs in some form or other! I mixed in a teaspoon of fig jam and tossed into the dish. I’m sure dried or fresh fig is just as delicious.

I’ve never seen any recipes in English which use cinamon until now, but I’m convinced they all ought to! <3 It adds a lovely je ne sais quoi.

(Lol I meant “*Tabbouleh recipes in English”. I know that cinamon is used in other stuff. )

Woohoo! So glad you enjoyed the recipe, friend, and love the idea of adding pomegrante 🤗

Très bon, très agréable. Bien considérer que c'est un accompagnement et non pas un plat principal

I’ve used couscous, as it was what I had at home, so Ive poured hot water over it, waited a little (I wasn’t sure about mixing boiling water with lemon juice and olive oil) and then added olive oil and lemon juice. It seemed like a lot and I was worried at first, but turned out perfect :)

not bad :) a bit too sour for my taste, and the portion size seemed kind of small (probably due to the oil). I brought the salad to a potluck work lunch and people seemed to like it.

Hi Kira, thanks for sharing your experience with the recipe. In case your lemon was on the large size, half a lemon yields approximately 15 mL (1 Tbsp) of lemon juice for us 🤗

Delicious! Will be making it again. Used quinoa instead.

Herby and delicious! I plan to hone my knife skills so I can get the parsley even smaller!
