Pink Lemonade

We all know and love traditional lemonade, but this pink lemonade is the elevated version! We added the sweet and tart flavour of raspberries to complement the sour taste of the lemons, which makes for a beautifully vibrant and refreshing summer drink. Cheers!

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (225 g)
    frozen raspberries
  • ¼ cup (60 mL)
maple syrup, plus more to taste
  • 4
    lemons, juiced
  • 4 cups (960 mL)
    cold water
  • 2 cups (222 g)
    ice cubes

Optional garnish

  • lemon slice
  • fresh mint leaves

Directions

  1. Add the raspberries and maple syrup to a saucepan, cooking for 3 - 4 minutes at a gentle simmer.
  2. As the raspberries start to soften, use the back of a wooden spatula or tamper to mash them.
  3. Place a sieve over a pitcher to strain the raspberry mixture, using the back of a spoon to press out as much liquid as possible. Let this liquid cool off completely, ideally in the fridge.
  4. When cooled, stir in the lemon juice and water.
  5. Add ice to glasses, and pour in the lemonade. Taste test and add more maple syrup to taste if too tart. Garnish, and enjoy!

Notes

  • If the drink is too tart from the lemons, add more maple syrup to balance it out.

Storage

  • The pink lemonade can be stored in an air-tight mason jar or glass bottle for up to 2 - 3 days.

It's so yummy and fresh! Definitely want to make this again! I think I need to add more water because the lemons are very flavorful and sour! 😝

I made that lemonade a few days before and it was truly awesome! Only thing was, I got lemons which were a little bit too juicy, so we added a bit more maple syrup to balance it out, just like Sadia recommends it anyways in the notes below the recipe. Really tasty! :)

A lovely adaption, Viktoria! Some lemons can be super juicy 🍋

My mom and I made this drink together on an EXTREMELY hot summer day. We had run out of raspberries, so we decided to make the drink with strawberries instead--and it still turned out ✨A M A Z I N G✨. We got the same beautiful pink color and even some delicious strawberry jam from the mashed strawberries. 5 stars to an amazing recipe!

Ohh love the strawberries sub, Priyanka, thanks s bunch for the review!

I loved making this drink for my mom! It made us both feel extra fancy when we were hanging out and it's very refreshing. I'm a big fan of the tartness but my mom added a bit more agave for hers. I don't like ordering lemonade when I'm out because it's usually too sticky sweet, so making it at home with this recipe really worked for me!

So kind of you to make it for your mom, Liz! We're so grateful for the lovely review 😃

(TLDR; You have to try this! It’s refreshingly delicious!) I’ve been on a quest to avoid as many man made chemicals in our food as possible, so this recipe came at me at the perfect time. I’ve been looking for a good homemade summer drink and this lemonade is definitely it! I used 1/3c of maple syrup instead of 1/4c because I had a feeling it was going to be too tart, and I’m glad I did. The lemonade was still tart for my normal go to… but after the first initial sips, I really started to fall in love with it. So crazy because I also mix my lemonades with unsweetened iced tea. I for sure thought I was going to have to double the amount of syrup, but I didn’t. I’m extra excited to like this because now I’m training myself to consume less sugar, and that’s so awesome! 5 glorious stars for this recipe!
