3 cups (450 g)cherry tomatoes

- Add the oil to a sauté pan on high heat. Add the tomatoes and cook for 3 minutes.
- Then add the water, orzo, bouillon, Italian seasoning, and pepper.
- Cook at a gentle simmer for 10 minutes, until the orzo is al dente. Stir occasionally, and mash the tomatoes with the back of the spatula to extract their flavour and juices.

fantastic! so quick, easy and healthy!
Simple and delicious!
Super simple and delicious!!
Did you previously have a baked orzo recipe?? I'm sure you did and it was one of our family favourites - so simple as everything just went in the oven, and really tasty too. I'm so sad I can't find it :(
This is so easy! My favorite 🩷
wow so simple but so good!! Made as directed except added some sliced vegan Italian sausage at the end for protein and parmesan but honestly this dish stands on its own.
Love it! Especially when you have little time to cook, this is a to go to😋
Quick meal on busy days, love it 😍😍😍
The only thing I really disliked is that I hadn't bought enough tomatoes to make this another time..right after I ate everything the first time. That was sooooo good !!! ♥️♥️♥️
It was so goood!! 8/10
Even when I substituted and even missed a spice for the italian lix it was amazing! I haven't proper meals for days, but as a student cooking on my own for the first time, this truly lifted my soul, it is so easy to lake as well! <3
Made this one for my “I’ll never give up meat” father, who doesn’t compliment easily. He said this dish was “actually pretty tasty”. In his case, that’s a five star review.
Such an easy recipe and tastes so good! I sometimes add tempeh for extra protein in addition to edamame. I make it every ten days or so. Thank you Sadia!
Very easy, simple and quick recipe! Few ingredients but lots of flavour! Love it!
This is an amazing quick dinner, love it!!! Will be having it again
Added some crumbled tofu for protein
This was just amazing and am adding this to the regular rotation. I sautéed some mushrooms in soy sauce and balsamic vinegar and added them at the end with the peas and basil, and I bet some thinly sliced red peppers that have been quickly sautéed beforehand and then added at the end would be good too--but I am always thinking about red peppers hah. This was the first thing I've made of yours and will be making a lot of things from your site--picked up the ingredients for your Coconut & Citrus Green Smoothie yesterday along with the stuff needed for this one. Also, as an amateur web designer, my compliments on your site--it's extremely well done!
Delightful! We never have leftovers 😋
Quick, easy and delicious!
I love this dish! Delicious flavor and quick to make.
So easy and quick but best of all delicious!
Easy, fast and sooo good - I'm gonna make this the whole summer! 🤤
Easy, fast and very tasy!
Thank you
Just made this dish today and it turned out really delicious! I'm curious if anyone has ever tried adding some mushrooms to it. I think it could really enhance the flavor.
Delicious, quick and still nourishing dish - very good for when you are on a rush - I added some olives and parsley to the list of ingredients and it was delicious!
This is my go to dish now when I don’t have much time but don’t want to compromise on taste 😌
Quick and nice dish.
Great and easy recipe!
Delicious!
So excellent! Easy and quick to make. Most importantly, my kids LOVED it!!!
Delicious, we added green asparagus and that was a lovely addition to add some more greens.
Easy and so good
So easy to make and no chopping involved. Delicious and flavorful ❤️
Very good!
Made this at home and took it over to my mom's to have lunch together. We really enjoyed it. Next time, I'll make an extra side salad to up my veggies a bit.
This is so good! Used plenty of basil and loved it! Definitely going to be one of my go to recipes! Thank you ♥️
Quick, simple, and easy weeknight dinner. I used large tomatoes (diced) and added a squeeze of tomato paste for more depth.
Loved this recipe! Very quick and still tasty.
Just made it on lunch for my family. Everyone was enjoyed. Thank you, PickUpLimes team for another great recipe!
This has become a go-to recipe for my family. It's quick and easy which is perfect for dinners after a long day. Sometimes I will do a swap with the peas to add spinach or okra. We always add a few sun-dried tomatoes as well. Even my two year old likes it and he is incredibly picky. It's a good way to get vegetables into his diet.
This recipe is so so good it made me dance in the kitchen! thank you very much for sharing!
Really easy and delicious. I used two cans of diced tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes, and a combo of fresh basil and parsley. Awesome.
Delicious, simple, and fast. It’s become a go-to of mine, the base recipe is fantastic. After making it many times now, I use spinach and dried basil in place of fresh as it’s more accessible to me. Great both ways
Added half a cup of nonfat Greek yogurt for protein and a few handfuls of spinach. So yummy!
Thank you for the recipe. I love it. Easy and fast. Recommended. Dont use too mich pepper
Yum!
Delicious dish. I topped with Parmesan cheese as I was out of fresh basil.
One of those recipes I make when friends come over because everyone likes it. I use frozen spinach instead of peas, so delicious!
Another excellent and easy recipe. The burst of flavor from the tomatoes is quite nice. Served with a simple salad.
I have made this so many times and the entire family loves it. So today I decided to go more Mexican and swap the Italian seasoning for taco seasoning, add a few tablespoons of salsa, and added corn and black beans to the peas . Thank you for not only the original recipe, but inspiring me to make a second one that's more my own. I couldn't have done it without you.
Made this for dinner just now. Amazing colours, heavenly flavours. I was a bit worried about the amount of spice and herbs in the recipe but they are not overpowering at all. The only modifications I made was adding a bit of salt and sprinkling pumpkin seeds rather than pine nuts on the top for a bit of crunch.
Lovely light and quick dinner!
I’ve been eating this like at least once a week for the last 6 months… it’s so easy! And so delicious!!!!!
Lecker !:)
Lots of flavour.
Really yum and so easy to make!
We have it with a side of watercress & rocket and EVO & balsamic vinegar. ☺️
Wonderful and quick recipe.
Everyone should try this recipe if they like tomato/orzo.Since it's so quick to make, you can easily modify things: I added some tofu for protein, cut up onions + garlic at the beginning, and added nutritional yeast at the end.
It's delicious. 🙂
So, so good!! I made this for my family and it was a hit! I went to the store for a last minute trip and they didn’t have cherry tomatoes, so I used diced tomatoes and drained the juice. It worked perfectly! I used fresh basil and rosemary from my garden, and didn’t have Italian seasoning so split it between dried thyme and parsley. So delicious! It was very quick to make, so it will be a new go-to recipe!!
Delicious and simple, perfect combination!
This has become such a staple recipe for us! We make it at least twice a month and it never disappoints 😍
Hi PUL-Team ^^ I tried making 3 portions and I think it would be better to seperate the pasta from the sauce: when i tried it, there was to much wather left after the pasta was cooked throug. The taste was there but still a little bland. If it has to be one-pot, i would suggest cooking the tomatoes together with the seasonings right away and using less wather (in my case, 2 instead of 3 cups) Also by seperating the pasta from the sauce, you can cook the sauche longer before starting the pasta, and the sauce-ingrediance have a better chance to realy combine with eachother.
It’s so good! So creamy and comforting, and so easy to make!
This was amazing! Healthy, fast, delicious and simple enough to be a go-to on a regular basis. I'll try it with a whole grain variant of orzo next time. Thanks for the treat!
This was excellent. It was easy and quick to make, satisfying and flavorful. I sautéed half of a chopped red onion and a chopped leek adding the tomatoes to the sauté. After blistering the tomatoes I used chicken stock instead of water and a bouillon cube for cooking the orzo mixture. Really wonderful and creamy.
This is my definition of a perfect weeknight recipe! No prepping time and minimal cleaning up. And so delicious as well, it is really good. I've made it twice now and didn't have basil both times. I once subbed spinach and once just left it out. Next time I'll try with basil!
Such a tasty, quick and healthy recipe! Perfect for busy weekdays. We like to add some sambal instead of chili flakes.
Loved the peas and the risotto-y texture. Perhaps missing a more umami-y flavor note?
a pantry staple, this is so easy to throw together with honestly anything you have in your fridge. i like to add the trader joe’s tinned eggplant to it.
It was quick, easy, Taste and healthy. Perfect during the busy weeks. Please make more of such recipes❤️
I love this recipe! So easy and quick to make and tastes great. Thank you so much! Also, it's fun to pop those cherry tomatoes. :)
This is a great weekend lunch for me that I can take for work the next day. My husband and I love it!
Have made it twice now! Each time it's so so so easy and satisfying!
so, so good. literally took us 25 minutes for cooking AND cleaning!! and the ingredients are so affordable. we used a chickpea orzo for extra protein and highly recommend! didn’t have basil so just threw in spinach but still tastes great.
How can something so easy be so tasty? I loved this and will add it to my list of easy meal prep recipes.
Absolutely DELICIOUS - and SO easy!!! Highly recommend, PUL never disappoints!
This exceeded my expectations! It was so delicious!
Outstanding!! We were not actually vegan…but these incredible recipes (OMG)…have made it so easy and sustainable taking that next step. We never have quite all of the ingredients (like for this recipe we only had 1/4 cup or Orzu)…and it never matters! It was incredible! Such delicious and forgiving recipes 🙏😃
Simple, quick, delicious! Just made it tonight for the first time and it will be a weeknight staple, for sure.
Quick and easy, I liked it a lot!
Loved it :) and it's so easy to make. Perfect for busy days. Thanks guys :)
Easy, tasty. Just make sure your pan is large enough if you double the recipe. I was struggling a bit.
This recipe is so easy to make, no cutting and one pot. I made it in advanced for meal prep but could be enjoyed at the moment if you have 20 min. Would make it again and definitely manipulable
It's the second time I make this recipe and I can't highlight enough how much I love it! It's a pretty simple dish, but as a student, this is what I like so much about it. It's my new to-go food when I don't have much time or ingredients at home and I can't wait to see more recipes like this one!
Quick and tasty!
Simply good!
This is perfect. As a student on a budget it's nice to be able to throw something together that tastes so good and is also so easy to make.
Perfect quick meal!
Now this is comfort food! Super easy and delicious 😋
So easy and delicious!!! Will put it on rotation
I added some fresh herbs and it was👌
Great taste and great mouthfeel. My tip: a few chopped capers or olives are super. Warm and cold just delicious. Thank you PUL team!
This orzo-cherry tomato dish was exceptional. I made it last night and my wife and I enjoyed on a cool Bainbridge Island misty evening. Perfect, and perfectly balanced flavors. I made it as described except that I substituted edamame for the peas. Nothing against peas. The edamame just felt better last night. Delicious!
This was soooo good! I didn’t expect so much flavor! 😍
So easy, yet so good! Love it!
Love this one! Easy to make and delicious.
This was an awesome experience! I’m actually trying the “nourish” feature on the website. Literally standing in the kitchen and adoring how beautiful this experience is, right from Robin’s AI and recommender system based ‘meal planner’ feature (which by the way built my entire meal plan - like a dietitian in the pocket), to buying groceries with the app (I had lot of fun doing so!), to this ‘make’ feature while actually cooking the recipes. I’m also making blueberry oats and cabbage butter pasta with it.
Coming back to the recipe - it’s delicious, yet flavorful yet so so simple. Literally made it in 30 minutes for 5 days!
Hats off to this app and thus to the recipe. #superhappy🤗
Very easy to prepare and tasty!
It's really creamy and also very cheap. Good side dish and also very good on it's on. Good recipe for the summer when everything is in season.
Huge payoff for not a lot of effort! Love this recipe - and I never leave reviews, LOL😂
Love this Creamy Tomato Orzo, even my husband (who is not vegetarian) loves it and will even cook it. We didn't have pine nuts in the cupboard, but sunflower seeds do just as well. Really tasty and filling.
Love it! So easy and tasty
So simple, yet so tasty! New family favourite ❤️
Simply delicious! Easy to make yet full of flavour. Enjoyed by all. Never cooked orzo before but will certainly make this again. Thank you for this lovely recipe.
About the 4th time making this delicious, easy dish. Used more orzo, dried tomatoes and diced bell peppers.
Love this recipe
Thanks
Quick, easy and delicious. I'm happy to add this to my rotation of weeknight dinners now. The peas really take this dish to the next level.
Very easy and delicious recipe whole family loved it !
Can’t wait to try this recipe this week! So easy and quick. Was wondering why no salt in the list?
VERY easy/ quick/ delish- I upped the cream factor by adding a cashew cream (vitamix: cashews, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, water- to cream consistency) - highly recommend
Hearty, creamy and super delicious :) Thought I’d have to put more salt into it but I’m glad I trusted the recipe as it tasted great just the way it was (even for an avid salt lover like me).
Super simple and delicious meal. My entire family loved it!
It was so good, my husband loved it. Dinner in less than 15 mn, you absolutely are changing my life. Thank you PUL Team 🙏🏽
Loved it! Great recipe!
Delicious!!
nice + quick! added some courgette too :)
So delicious! I added some cooked mushrooms at the end. I WILL be making this again.
This looks amazing. Question: I usually make a week of lunches from a single recipe, but the notes indicate it will hold in the refrigerator for up to two days. Perhaps I could freeze the last 3 lunch portions? Also, any idea of what I can add for an additional punch of protein that goes well with these ingredients?
This is so easy and so good! We were amazed! Think this is going to be a staple! Loved it! Did ad a bit of garlic(powder).
Delicious!!! 😋
SO tasty and simple to make! My husband and I just moved into an RV to travel full time and this was such an amazing one pot recipe! It will be on our weekly rotation!
super delicious, quick and easy recipe for a lazy dinner!!
Loved this recipe. Hit with the family and kids. Very comforting and easy to make.
Quick, simple and delicious! Thank you!
Wow, super tasty. Yum. Huby is excited as well ❤️❤️
It’s sooo good. 😍
Super tasty and super easy! Thank you so much!!
Will definitely make this again! Soo gooood! ❤️❤️
Easy and very tasty. I cook this often!
Just finished this meal.. It's zo delicious, love it!!
Would love more (simple) orzo recipes 🙏🏼💚
New week night staple! So delicious, so quick and easy. No cutting and with ingredients we usually have in the house anyway (I'm going to make sure we always have the orzo, it is so nice to eat). Thank you, I love it!
So easy to make and incredibly delicious!
Soo simple and soo good! Loved it
Amazing! So easy to make and it comes out delicious 🙏🏼 as someone who honestly doesn’t really like cooking — this almost changed my mind! Probably my best dish - yet :)! Thank you PUL
Made this last minute for guests because I had all the ingredients on hand. They loved it. Added some soy cream to make it a bit fancier and it was delicious.
Another quick, easy and tasty meal. Loved it 🥰
This was really delicous, subtle sweet taste. I made it exactly like the recipe said. I am going to make this often. I do recommend to up the serving size to 4 though. The serving size was 2 and we ate with 3 persons.
loved it, simple, delicious and nutricious. 💚
Amazing recipe !
Very easy and delicious. Even my little ones enjoyed it!
Delicious recipe! Both times I’ve made this I didn’t actually have orzo. Using other kinds of pasta leaves the sauce on the watery side, but the flavor is amazing and I love that it such a quick, low effort recipe as well.
Such as delicious meal! It is fast becoming one of my go to meals when I need something quick and easy.
It was so easy and delicious. I will definitely make it one of my go to recipes.
Delicious and so easy!!!
Made this twice - absolutely love it!! Love to add beans when I add the frozen peas too for some extra protein :)
Excellent. Really simple too.
It's so easy and quick yet so delicious! Love how smooth the dish is thanks to the tomatoes. Thank you, Sadia!
Love this! Find that I love it even more when I do chopped spinach instead of peas, add some garlic and veg ground near the beginning and add lemon juice at the end. I have made it with regular tomatoes and it's good that way too. Often the only way I can find cherry tomatoes where I live is in the non-recyclable plastic clamshell and I'm trying not to buy that stuff anymore. Thank you!
Can I use another type of pasta? I can't find orzo.
Worked very well as a quick and easy lunch that also fully delivers on flavours!
I just made this, it was so easy and delicious. A lot of Umami flavours.
Delicious and easy weekday meal!
Absolutely delicious! We paired it with some vegan cevapcici 😊
So quick and easy! I loved the taste and how student-friendly it is.
Tried it and loved it! I’ve never been the biggest tomato fan but love what I’ve tried from the site. Highly recommend this one!
I made this recipe three times already, once how it actually is, once i substituted the fresh tomatoes with canned ones and once I added some smoked tofu and it always turned out amazing :) Thank you for always creating such easy recipes that taste delicious!
Delicious and filling! This has become a new staple in my lunches/dinners. Light and refreshing, it's perfect for the summer here in England! 😃
What do I do if I have normal barley and not in the form of pasta?
If you want simple and cozy recipes, PUL is just the place to come to. This recipe is so quick and easy to whip up, perfect for lazy days or for me every other day.
I’ve tried to replace the greens with peas, edamame, spinach, kale, or any greens I have on and and it doesn’t change the taste and it’s just as easy to put together. For anyone that doesn’t like to spend to much time cooking this recipe will be your go to. PUL somehow always gets it right with these recipes. 10/10 recommend.
Wonderfully easy and speedy. Enjoyed making with my teen daughter. We just downloaded the app this week and have made several dishes….all are incredible. Big love and thanks from England for all your incredible recipes.
Love this! Zero chopping and just chuck it in a pan; perfect for after a long shift! Super tasty and satisfying - I'd run out of peas (how?? Pretty sure there's some law that says there will always be frozen peas), so added some edamame instead. I had this with a spinach salad and will be keeping this in my rotation for these busy days. Much nicer than some ready meal! I can't wait for the Android app, PUL is my go-to for recipes <3
Made this for my lunch, but made it pantry friendly by swapping the Cherry Tomatoes with a Can of Diced Tomatoes, and did frozen shelled edamame instead of peas. Was delicious! Thank you for the inspiration!
Easy to do but delicious. I also added some spinach which worked great.
I just came home from 2 1/2 h bikeride and was really hungry but with no Energie for cooking. So this recepie just saved me. I had the exact Amount of Risonie left. Which was great because they were made of Red lentils and gave a extra Protein kick.
I had some Edamame left which went also in. So this was really delicious. Because I don't like food always so creamy I roasted some Sunflower and Pumkin seeds for a Topping. Thanks for sharing this
From now on I will always have some Risonie in my cupboard.
Absolutely delicious and super easy. Seapped the cherry tomatoes for grape tomatoes and used dry basil and it still came out yummy. I’d recommend a little more liquid for softer orzo ( I used veggie stock). This is the perfect recipe for when you don’t feel like cooking. Will add this to my rotation for sure!!
Just made this for dinner. Super flavorful, quick and easy. Thank you so much for sharing! I have made many of your recipes and have loved them all.
My first try with this recipe was a success! I didn’t have vegetable bouillon cubes so I used veggie broth from a carton instead. Super flavorful and the hint of chili flakes gave it a subtle spice that was great. Will definitely make this again.
Just made this for dinner and had to make myself put my bowl down to keep from inhaling it. Soo good. I can't wait to make it with fresh tomatoes from the garden. What a great, easy recipe!
I just made this, and I'm in love! So wholesome, flavourful and the one-pot bit is just a bonus! Thank you for this recipe xx
Incredibly easy and delicious, works with canned tomatoes too and still has layers of flavor. Will definitely add this recipe to my weekly rotation!
For how simple this is, it's very flavorful and warm. Ours ended up looking a little different, but that may be because we used more tomatoes than the recipe called for. It's going into our regular rotation! Loved it!
Clever, easy and tasty! Paired with steamed veggies for a yummy meal.
I made this dish after a bought of not having the energy to cook. When I heard the Sadia promise no chopping required for this dish, I felt like I could get back in the kitchen. I bumped the serving amount to 4 (which was so easy thanks to the website--can't wait for the new app!) as I let the container of tomatoes dictate how much I'd make. I ended up feeding two of my housemates on the first night ('twas a hit!) and myself for half a week! It tasted good warm or cold.
Thank you, Pick Up Limes team!
I tried it today after a busy morning, it was a real relief to have it and it was delicious!! Thank you for this simple, fast and so good recipe!
Loved the recipe.
Made some changes since we have here in Israel ptitim and not orzo.
Also changed the peas to adamame.
I love this! I made this yesterday after a recital and it was so nice to have a recipe that is so delicious but still so quick to make! Also the no chopping part was great. One of my new favorite PUL recipes!
I am also so excited for the app to come out for Android! Thank you in advance for all the hard work you put in 🫶🏻
Thank you!
That‘s a fast & delicious dish, my Family liked it, too 😋
Only „Problem“: the serving of 4 brought my Pan to its Limits… 😳😬
So yummy!
Minimum fuss, hardly any clean up but maximum taste. Just perfect after a busy day. Did not have fresh basil but substituted with fresh mint and it was just amazing. Will definitely make this one again and again.
So simple and so good! The texture really does become creamy and the pops of tomatoes are absolutely divine (I left a few uncrushed)! I was contemplating going out to eat after an hectic day, but I'm so happy I decided to cook this dish instead. I hardly feel like I put in any effort, and all of a sudden, I had a superb homemade meal—it felt like magic!
Hi Sadia,
I love cooking, but sometimes a simple and easy recipe is such a treat. This is one of those. The family devoured it, no leftover whatsoever. I made some roasted veggies on the side because I had some more time and it paired really well.
Thank you so much for sharing these recipes. I've cooked a handful now from your site and they always come out delicious.
Have a wonderful evening!
Sooo good even for non-vegans! And my 1 and 3 years old children approve as well!!
So good!
Made it last night, so easy and tasty that we decided to remake it again for lunch today! I substituted the orzo for pearl couscous and added some white beans the second time around, and it was just as delicious.
It was delicious! I'm definitely going to make it again!
quick and delicious🌱✨
Oh my this was delicious! I must say that I was skeptical at first because of the short list of ingredients, but they truly do come together for a delicious and creamy dish with lots of flavor! I did not have fresh basil on hand so I used 1tsp dry basil. Also my very picky kids even ate this!
