This was delicious! Didn’t have almonds so used walnuts and still delicious. This will be a staple in the house.

katy - April 2, 2024, 3:51 p.m.

I used frozen mixed berries (all I had on hand) and it’s awesome! Excited to try with blueberries next time.

love it

Sarah Randalls - Nov. 29, 2023, 1:56 a.m.

I’m allergic to bananas, do you think a date could be added instead?

PUL Team - Nov. 29, 2023, 2:19 a.m.

Hey Sarah, we enjoy adding the banana as it caramelizes which adds a delicious creaminess and a touch of sweetness which dates might not offer since they're dried and more sticky. Perhaps an alternative idea is to omit the banana, and then add other toppings such as fruit, dried fruit, or sweetener to taste to help balance the oatmeal out after cooking. We hope you enjoy it if you're able to give it a try. Do let us know how it goes 🤗

Alexandra - Nov. 10, 2023, 3:46 p.m.

Great and easy recipe for the morning! Nice flavor!

Evangelia - Nov. 7, 2023, 2:40 p.m.

Hi, the nutrition info, refer to the full recipe including toppings etc or just to the recipe of oatmeal itself?
Thanks in advance,
Evi

PUL Team - Nov. 7, 2023, 3:33 p.m.

Hey Eva. The nutritional information provided reflects all the ingredients listed with specific quantities in the recipe. This includes any toppings for which measurements are specified, like "1 banana, sliced" or "1/2 cup of blueberries." If a topping is merely a suggested option without a designated amount, such as the "ground cinnamon" and "slivered toasted almonds" it isn't included in the nutritional calculation. I hope this helps :)

Evangelia - Nov. 8, 2023, 11:27 a.m.

Many thanks all very clear :-). Many thanks for nourishing our souls with such innovative recipes. Keep on going, kisses from Greece :-)

Adrienn - Nov. 7, 2023, 9:10 a.m.

This is the best thing about morning. 😃

Hannah - Nov. 7, 2023, 7:52 a.m.

Underrated recipe! I added some more vanilla extract & maple sirup and a little bit of cinnamon. Then I topped the oatmeal with some selfmade chocolate yogurt (simply some plant yogurt mixed with cocoa powder and maple sirup), peanut butter, banana slices, nuts and chia seeds. Love it!

kse - Oct. 23, 2023, 9:46 a.m.

Loved it!! I'm a huge blueberry and almond fan 🤩 unfortunately I didn't have a coconut yogurt but the soya one, next time I'll try with coconut!!

PUL Team - Oct. 23, 2023, 7:12 p.m.

Aw we're so thrilled to hear, Kse! Enjoy the oatmeal with coconut yogurt when you're able to give it a try 🤗

sydney walsh - Oct. 19, 2023, 4:11 p.m.

Loved this recipe! I made just one serving to try it. I will say be careful with that almond extract! A little goes a long way! ☺️

Guilherme - Sept. 22, 2023, 1:44 p.m.

Is the maple syrup replaceable with honey?

PUL Team - Sept. 23, 2023, 12:42 a.m.

Hey Guilherme, since we only use plant-based products here at PUL we haven't tested it out, but we hope you enjoy the oatmeal if you give it a try 😊

Guilherme - Sept. 22, 2023, 1:36 p.m.

Is the almond butter replaceable with peanut butter?

PUL Team - Sept. 23, 2023, 12:41 a.m.

Hey Guilherme, yes! You can omit the almond butter or substitute it for any nut or seed butter 🤗

Tara - Sept. 16, 2023, 3:29 p.m.

This is such a tasty, easy breakfast for the morning rush!

Heidi - Sept. 15, 2023, 8:01 a.m.

Olivia - Sept. 9, 2023, 10:56 a.m.

Will become a staple!

Jan - Aug. 30, 2023, 7:01 p.m.

Wouldn’t steel cut oatmeal be healthier?

PUL Team - Aug. 31, 2023, 11:24 p.m.

Hi Jan, steel-cut oats are indeed a wonderful choice for a nourishing meal. Their minimal processing leads to a higher fiber content, which in turn has a gradual effect on our blood sugar levels and keeps us feeling full for longer. On the other hand, rolled oats, while slightly more processed, still offer plenty of nutrients and the added benefit of quicker preparation. We're excited for you to give the oatmeal recipe a try and hear what you think about the results! 🤗

mel - Aug. 28, 2023, 8:55 a.m.

I really like this breakfast. It so easy and fast to make and the sweetness is just right

chas - Aug. 22, 2023, 2:21 p.m.

Very good & filling. Easy to make!

Juliet Barbe - July 25, 2023, 9 p.m.

The message to say it should be stored without the toppings would be better if was said prior to finishing the recipe. Other than that - delicious recipe and easy to make! Thank you

PUL Team - July 27, 2023, 2:25 a.m.

Hey Juliet, thanks for the feedback - we've adjusted the recipe accordingly. Happy cooking! 🤗

Jenny - July 22, 2023, 11:44 a.m.

Totally delicious - a perfect start to a rainy Saturday morning in July!! 🤣🤣

Djuli Bravenboer - July 21, 2023, 8:02 a.m.

Sooo yummy! Don’t skip the optional ingredients, the almond extract and cinnamon are so good in this! Oh and I only made one portion for two people. Was already more than enough for us.

Ellis - July 19, 2023, 11:42 a.m.

So delicious, easy and fullfilling!

Mahi Perera - July 12, 2023, 2:30 a.m.

PUL Team - July 14, 2023, 8:14 a.m.

Yayyy so happy to hear, Susi! Might we suggest our Classic Comforting Oatmeal for a classic recipe: pickuplimes.com/recipe/classi… 😜

Madison Jones - July 4, 2023, 11:17 p.m.

Ronda Chambers - June 30, 2023, 5:09 p.m.

Easy and delicious. Topped with some strawberries for colour and so yummy x

Margaret - June 11, 2023, 2:45 p.m.

This blueberry oatmeal is a great way to start your day!

Instead of using almond extract, I added 1/4 tsp of coconut extract. Also, I thought my batch was sweet enough with the frozen blueberries and banana, so I didn’t add the agave syrup.

PUL Team - June 11, 2023, 7:02 p.m.

Mmm thanks so much for sharing your experience with the oatmeal, Margaret!

Lindsey - June 1, 2023, 2:45 p.m.

So delicious to start my day with. I used Oatmilk since that was all I had, but I added the almond extract and that definitely elevated it!

PUL Team - June 1, 2023, 8:02 p.m.

Ooo a lovely idea, Lindsey - thank you!

Mayank - April 4, 2023, 10:25 a.m.

Alex - Jan. 20, 2023, 6:49 p.m.

Really flavorful! This is officially one of my favorite oatmeal recipes- and I've tried A LOT. The banana really elevates the texture and flavor- 5/5 stars for me!

PUL Team - Jan. 20, 2023, 10:30 p.m.

Such a massive compliment, Alex, thank you so much 🥰

Elyse - Jan. 19, 2023, 5:07 p.m.

Super tasty and filling! I love Sadia's oatmeal recipes for how filling (but not over-stuffing) they are, and this one is one of my faves! I've played around with the spices a little, depending on what I have in my spice rack (cardamom, which I love with blueberry or fresh ginger), but the recipe is also amazing as is and I love the gorgeous fuchsia color! I also love how the banana coins melt into the oatmeal as it cooks:) Whenever I have super busy mornings and I may be having a later-than-usual lunch, this recipe keeps me full all morning and it also comes together pretty quickly.

PUL Team - Jan. 20, 2023, 5:55 a.m.

Oh we're so thrilled to hear, Elyse, thank you for the very kind words! Happy cooking 😃

Omgosh this is so good. I love your recipes and appreciate the format of your website. Beautiful, to the point and not junked up with ads. As for the oatmeal, mine came out a little greyish because I used frozen blueberries. Still delicious though! Adding the small amount of almond extract is inspired.

Oh, Kat, we're grinning from ear to ear! Thank you for the kind words and glowing feedback ✨

Woohoo! We're beyond happy to hear, Elyse :)

Pearl - Jan. 26, 2022, 6:42 a.m.

This was great! I made a batch and portioned it for meal prep. As a busy college student, this is great to heat up in the morning and go! The color was not as vibrant since I used regular blueberries instead of wild ones, but the taste is light and delicate compared to the mocha oatmeal recipe. I used a splash of agave instead of maple syrup since the bananas sweetened the oatmeal. Thanks a TON, this is very tasty!!!

PUL Team - Jan. 27, 2022, 6:52 p.m.

So thrilled it was enjoyed, Pearl! Wishing you an abundance of wellness and success with your studies ❣️📚

Thien - Jan. 24, 2022, 2:22 a.m.

Wonderful recipe! I think another commenter did this too, but I just leave out the syrup and the banana makes it plenty sweet. I had never thought to serve oatmeal with yogurt before but it was delicious. Thank you for your creative recipes!

Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience with the oatmeal, Thien!

Annie Stover - Jan. 9, 2022, 5:52 p.m.

Wow! I have NEVER liked oatmeal in all my 45 years of life… until now. This recipe was unlike any oatmeal I have ever tasted. Excellent. I used walnuts on top as I was out of almonds. Also added only almond extract at the end. Delicious! Thank you for this recipe. I desperately need to add more plants and fiber to my diet for health reasons and breakfast was a real challenge. I will try the overnight oats next…

Jeanette - Jan. 8, 2022, 3:02 a.m.

Thank you Sada!! For this wonderfully, tasteful, filling recipe! It definitely gave my boring oatmeal a spin on taste and color! I’m employed at the hospital and during my 10pm-6am shift, I’ll have some already prepared in a mason jar and I’m energized throughout the night! Can you please add more oatmeal ideas.

Thank you 🙏
Jeanette 🙂

I loved the colour and how fruity this oatmeal was. There were so many delicious blueberries!! Plus the tasty yogurt and nut butter complimented it so well. Will definitely be making this again soon!

We appreciate the glowing review so much, Charlotte, thank you!

Oooooooh, now THIS is my new favourite oatmeal (for now). I was having your strawberry overnight oats for quite some time until I made this blue-blue blueberry oatmeal. Yummylicious! And the colour is so inviting. Thank you so much for creating delicious, affordable, and simple recipes. When I converted to a vegan 'lifestyle' I began with your recipes. Two years later and I continue to use your recipes (and I especially appreciate your website-- reader-friendly, ease of use without having to scroll through tons of pages to get to the actual recipe...luv luv luv). Cheers to you and family for 2022.

We're smiling from ear to ear, Laura - thank you for taking the time to share the very kind words! We're so honoured the PUL content is being enjoyed and thank you for helping make our PUL community so special ✨

I tastes very good, but it is a bit to rich for me.

Dan - Jan. 3, 2022, 9:46 p.m.

This is sooo good and so easy to make! It keeps me full for hours and my 18mo son loves picking off the toppings and eating them too. :)

I was dubious about the yogurt topping, but you were 100% right it’s amazing and to anyone reading this review you’ve got to try it. The taste combination is really what makes this dish.

PUL Team - Jan. 4, 2022, 5 p.m.

Aw we're so glad it was enjoyed by you and your little one, Dan!

Celina - Jan. 2, 2022, 6:42 p.m.

This is so delicious! The combination of flavors and the right amount of sweetness is the perfect way to start my day. I love the flavor combination of blueberries with almond butter it's divine 😍. This really reminded me of a blueberry muffin.

Oh, Celina, so lovely to hear! Thank you sharing 🌻

Marvellous oatmeal: a warm filling hug packed with flavour😋 I agree completely with your comment in the video to use wild blueberries, it’s amazing (lucky to have Nordic bilberries that’s nutritious and more dense in colour🤩). Vanilla and blueberries are an interesting flavour combination. I loved this oatmeal with more banana and bilberries, cinnamon, chopped pecans, and Greek yoghurt for topping. I was a bit afraid that banana and maple syrup would be too sweet, but it worked very well👏🏼 The only disadvantage with these new oatmeal recipes is ground flaxseeds or chia seeds. It’s not necessary, as the porridge will thicken perfectly well on its own. That’s the whole purpose to have warm oatmeal. I’ve tried one of the oatmeals with chia seeds and it turned into a lump. Naturally, I had to add a lot more beverage to loosen 🤯. To summarise, it was a lovely breakfast!!

Hi Louise, we appreciate the time you took to share your experience with the oatmeal so much! It's so valuable to help us improve. Aside from the thickening, we enjoy the boost of healthy fats that the ground seeds provide. Feel free to omit these ones if desired though! We've noted down the feedback for future content and are glad the oatmeal was still enjoyed 😃

Sarah - Dec. 27, 2021, 6:06 p.m.

I am always up for new oatmeal recipes. So when I saw this recipe, I had to give it a try. It was delicious! It was perfectly sweet and had amazing flavor. Plus, my kitchen smelled incredible. I used oat milk instead of almond since that is what I had on hand. I got through three-quarters of the dish before I was full. I couldn’t finish it. Thank you for the recipe.

PUL Team - Dec. 28, 2021, 2:21 a.m.

Hi Sarah! We're so thrilled the oatmeal was enjoyed. Thank you for the kind words 😃

Ashley - Dec. 26, 2021, 7:37 p.m.

Made this the same day I saw the recipe come online and my husband and I absolutely loved it! I normally do not care for oatmeal, but am always giving it a try. This recipe is going to be how I do it from now on. Plus, the color is so beautiful, it makes you excited to eat it :D

PS thank you for always including measurement by weight. I just sat my pot on my scale, poured in all the ingredients, and didn’t have to dirty a single measuring tool.

Aw thank you for the glowing review, Ashley, it means so much! We're so glad the oatmeal and website feature are being enjoyed ✨
