I love this recipe. Delicious. Even my kids love it.

Ann-Cathrin - Nov. 19, 2023, 10:20 p.m.

Just made this a second time. So good!

Betzy Vogel - Oct. 17, 2023, 10:12 p.m.

absolutly delicious!
I added 1/8 cup of soy flakes for a bit more protein and used ground flex seeds and peanut butter since that's all I had....
this will be one of my stables.
it's creamy, sweet and a tiny bit salty from the peanut butter. can't wait to have breakfast again

PUL Team - Oct. 17, 2023, 11:51 p.m.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the overnight oats, Betzy! 😊

Stefanie - Sept. 2, 2023, 3:36 a.m.

I was looking for new overnight oats recipes for a healthy breakfast. I'm on a weightloss journey rn and while these recipes are very nutritous and balanced, someone trying to lose weight should definitely not stick to your suggested serving sizes. I know you say you don't focus on numbers, but this recipe especially blows through 2/3 of my daily budget just for breakfast... even if I didn't try to lose, this is more than half of my daily maintenance calories! So if I chose this for breakfast and then top it off with one of your lunches and dinners, I'd very likely be overeating and wondering why I'm gaining as "I'm only eating nourishing food"...

Alejandra DMG - March 30, 2024, 1:19 a.m.

Instead of complaining, maybe you should avoid any recipe that includes the words “chocolate chip cookie dough” during your journey.

Jack Malone - July 25, 2023, 10:16 p.m.

I really enjoyed this recipe! How often would you recommend eating it? I am asking because of how rich it is. I feel like I should probably only have it once in a while.

PUL Team - July 29, 2023, 12:11 a.m.

Hey Jack, thanks for the question 😊 how often really depends on the person. If it feels too rich, you could consider omitting some maple syrup and saving the cookie dough bites for another time!

A favorite

hilary hoopes - July 2, 2023, 6:13 a.m.

These are so good, great for anyone who thinks they don’t like oats. I don’t like soggy, overcooked oats but these oats are like desert that make your gut happy.

PUL Team - July 4, 2023, 2:55 a.m.

🙌 🙌 thank you, Hilary!

Alex (she, her, hers) - May 20, 2023, 11:34 p.m.

Sadia and friends,

You have done it AGAIN! WOOOOOOOOOOW... this was AMAZING! It tasted like dessert and was SO filling.

I feel giddy just thinking about what a lovely experience this was. Who would have thought?! I am going to try the chocolate-almond overnight oats recipe next!

Thank you again for nourishing my soul! (:

PUL Team - May 21, 2023, 8:51 p.m.

Aww Alex, we're so thrilled to hear - thank you! Happy nourishing 🤗

This looks and tastes soooo good ☺️🩷🤌🏻

Lee Borkwood - April 14, 2023, 6:21 a.m.

I hate cooked oatmeal. Yuck! Always called it slime in a bowl. Overnight oats didn't sound good but turns out they are wonderful! I'm a convert. My husband still pours on more milk in the morning and heats his in the microwave, so we're both happy!

PUL Team - April 14, 2023, 7:04 a.m.

Aw so happy the overnight oats are being enjoyed, Lee, thank you!

Julika - Jan. 22, 2023, 4:46 p.m.

Just fantastic! Especially the cookie dough bites!

Jacie - Dec. 24, 2022, 5:52 a.m.

This is the best overnight oats recipe I've ever had! My new favorite breakfast :)

PUL Team - Dec. 24, 2022, 4:16 p.m.

Such a big compliment, Jacie, thank you!

Dylan Veenkant - Oct. 1, 2022, 2:17 a.m.

Hey There!

I was wondering what size jar or container that you would use for any of the overnight oats recipes. I was also wondering if you know if the container itself might effect how the oats absorb the liquid. For example, I have used a rectangle meal prep container and have wanted to use jars though was not sure if or how this might effect the oats absorbing the liquid. Thanks for all the recipes! Cheers.

PUL Team - Oct. 5, 2022, 7:41 a.m.

Hey there, Dylan, our mason jars tend to be around 450 grams (or 2 cups worth). We personally prefer mason jars over other containers for overnight oats as they tend to be more leak-proof and on-the-go friendly. Any air-tight container will do though! The container may impact the texture of the overnight oats if it's not airtight 🙂

Rosemary - Sept. 27, 2022, 10:56 a.m.

Great to add some variety to brrakfast

Nayeli🌸🌺☺ - June 19, 2022, 2:27 p.m.

Hey !
I am Nayeli from Mexico.
I really liked this recipes ! Delicious !
But I have a question : can we do it without cashew butter ?
Thanks !

PUL Team - June 22, 2022, 3:27 p.m.

Hey there, Nayeli! The nut butter helps to add a nutty flavour and creamy texture to the overnight oats. You could substitute it for an alternative nut or seed butter, such as peanut butter or sunflower seed butter. If it's desired to omit the nut butter without a substitute though, it likely would be worth it to give the overnight oats a quick taste and adjust the flavours as needed 😊

Erica - June 9, 2022, 8:27 p.m.

Thank you for the cashew butter recipe! It's my new go-to nut butter and in this recipe it's perfect for a more subtle taste.

PUL Team - June 10, 2022, 8:59 p.m.

So glad to hear, Erica! Love homemade nut butters 🙌

Parina - April 28, 2022, 2:25 p.m.

I hate eating oatmeal, but wow this recipe is beyond amazing! I was very skeptical at first at how it would turn out but I am beyond impressed. Sadia, you are amazing! Thank you and your team for all your hard work creating these recipes. My family is truly enjoying your recipes and I am forever grateful to PUL!

PUL Team - April 29, 2022, 6:58 p.m.

Oh, Parina, it means so much the recipes are being enjoyed! Thank YOU 😃

Mahima Kalla - March 16, 2022, 7:23 a.m.

This is an incredible recipe. For anyone on the fence - try it! Also, I was concerned earlier about cookie dough balls because oats traditionally don't agree with me. These overnight oats are perfect, and the cookie dough balls also don't cause any issues. It's probably to do with being soaked overnight that takes away any problematic compounds. The cookie dough balls are also nice and soft by the morning. I store them in a separate jar overnight.

PUL Team - March 17, 2022, 4:59 p.m.

Hi there, Mahima, we're so thrilled to hear! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the overnight oats 😊

Mahima Kalla - Feb. 27, 2022, 11:44 a.m.

Hi Sadia,
I am enjoying trying your different overnight oats recipes. I am wondering if eating raw oats in the cookie dough balls might be hard on the stomach / cause bloating? I had this issue earlier when having porridge. But somehow I am ok with overnight oats...

PUL Team - Feb. 28, 2022, 7:22 p.m.

Hey Mahima, some people may experience abdominal upset from eating raw oats or other fibre-containing grains. Increasing our intake gradually over time and staying hydrated often helps. It's always best to check in with a health care professional though, such as a dietitian, just in case there's an allergy, intolerance, or underlying issue 😊

Lea - Jan. 10, 2022, 8:35 p.m.

For the cookie dough can we omit the maple syrup to make it healthier?

PUL Team - Jan. 12, 2022, 3:51 a.m.

Hi there, Lea, you can omit the maple syrup if desired. If the balls need a bit more stickiness to hold together, you could add a tad more nut butter or a pureed date 😊

Erica - Dec. 8, 2021, 1:42 a.m.

Sooooo yummy! If you have a bit of a sweet tooth like me, you’ll love this recipe!

Dawn - Dec. 7, 2021, 4:02 p.m.

I'm coming into intuitive eating after several years of diet mentality, and when I look at this recipe I just can't understand how Sadia could eat a 800+ calorie breakfast and still stay so slim. Maybe I shouldn't have looked at the calories, but I don't think that I could consume this very often without gaining a lot of weight unless my other two meals were very small and unsatisfying. When this says, 'one serving,' is that based on a much larger person? ...Or maybe an athlete? I'd really like to succeed with intuitive eating, but I'm struggling to stop caring about calories.

PUL Team - Dec. 8, 2021, 2:53 a.m.

Hi Dawn, thanks for your comment! We imagine it must be difficult not to think about calories in a society where diet mentalities are promoted so often. It's clear you're very aware of this though, considering you took the time to share your valuable insight with us 😊

In this recipe, one serving refers to one jar. Servings can totally vary between people, and even day-to-day for the same person. For example, sometimes we might feel satisfied with a portion of a jar rather than the full amount. Other times we might want the whole thing. Approaching this intuitively is best.

In the meantime, if you’re interested, we have an article on intuitive eating with a PDF here: pickuplimes.com/article/intui…. We also find the info shared by dietitians Evelyn and Elyse valuable: intuitiveeating.org/. We hope this helps for now! Thank you again, Dawn. Wishing you an abundance of health and wellness on your journey with food ✨💚

Kelisha Latoya Corridon - Dec. 5, 2021, 8:22 p.m.

The Balls were not forming I didn’t have cashew butter ,so I used peanut butter but the peanut butter I had was drippy. I used a stiffer peanut butter and it worked.

PUL Team - Dec. 7, 2021, 3:55 a.m.

Hi Kelisha, thanks for sharing your experience with this one! It sounds like the extra moisture and reduced stickiness in the nut butter may have impacted the balls from forming. If you opt to use runnier nut butter in the future and are interested, adding a tad more can help. We're glad the stiff peanut worked though 😊

Ellie - Nov. 19, 2021, 8:31 p.m.

This is now my breakfast every morning. Seriosly. Thank you for all of your amazing recipes Sadia! You are truly an extraordinary cook, and i am SO grateful that you share your recipes with everyone. They make my vegatarian life so much more exciting! :)

PUL Team - Nov. 20, 2021, 5:22 a.m.

Hi there, Ellie! It means so much that the PUL content is being enjoyed. Thank you for being here and sharing the kind words 💚

Amélie - Sept. 19, 2021, 9:19 p.m.

This recipe is a scam! I made it once and it was so delicious that now I have to make it for my whole family every night! Seriously, thanks for this recipe! The cookies balls are totally unbelievable, breakfast taste like dessert 😋

PUL Team - Sept. 20, 2021, 3:52 p.m.

Oh, Amélie, you're too kind! So glad the recipe is being enjoyed 😃

Eliana - Sept. 14, 2021, 8:28 p.m.

Your recipies are always fun and yummy! It's just like I'm eating dessert for breakfast without the guilt!

Lizanne - Aug. 18, 2021, 7:59 a.m.

I made the chocolate chip cookie dough overnight oats and am so excited! Both my daughter and husband get up early for work and neither have time for a good breakfast, so they end up either rushing through a bowl of too-sweet granola or not eating at all and then making bad decisions around 1:00pm because they are so hungry. They both loved these oats! I've been making oatmeal for the family for decades, but this recipe was just fun/sweet/easy enough that they both requested it the next day! It is definitely like dessert <3

PUL Team - Aug. 19, 2021, 6:57 p.m.

Aw so happy you and your family are enjoying the overnight oats, Lizanne! Thank you 😃

Charlotte - Aug. 15, 2021, 5:20 p.m.

This breakfast feels like such a treat! I especially love the cookie dough balls as they are so tasty! I leave the maple syrup out of the ovenright oat mixture as I find it a bit too sweet otherwise. Overnight oats are so good in the warmer months and it is so much fun to have such a variety of PUL recipes to enjoy. 😊

PUL Team - Aug. 16, 2021, 3:17 a.m.

Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience with this one, Charlotte! We're so glad the overnight oats are being enjoyed 🥰

Heidi - Aug. 10, 2021, 1:50 p.m.

Hey! A huge thank you for the latest over night oats video and recipes! I’ve recently cut refined sugar out of my diet and I’m so happy to see a recipe use a natural sweetener <3 I’m making this for my kids (8 and 4) and I bet they’ll love the cookie dough bits :D Who said cheating kids is not the main objective as a parent?! ;)

Glawdys L. - Aug. 6, 2021, 10:15 a.m.

Tiril - July 11, 2021, 2:19 p.m.

Thank you Sadie for these 2 amazing ideas: energy balls as a topping on my oats and using mini chocolate chips instead of the regular ones. Loved this combo!!

PUL Team - July 16, 2021, 6:43 a.m.

So glad you're enjoying it, Tiril!

Gabriela - July 8, 2021, 8:56 p.m.

Clare - May 19, 2021, 2:20 p.m.

As a cookie and overnight oats fan, I absolutely love this recipe! The portion was a big too big for me so I had the rest as dessert after lunch :)

PUL Team - May 22, 2021, 5:03 a.m.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Clare! A wonderful idea to same some for later 🤗

Summer - May 15, 2021, 5:42 p.m.

This is one of my faves for sure! ✨🌱Can this be enjoyed as a dessert as well?

PUL Team - May 16, 2021, 12:18 a.m.

Hey Summer, totally! You may find a portion a bit too filling after dinner, but if anything you could save whatever is leftover in the fridge for another time 🙂

June - April 26, 2021, 12:46 p.m.

Easy and really delicious:)) My new favourite when it comes to overnight oat recipies, also those cookie balls on top are great, I've also made them without the overnight oats, just as a snack.

PUL Team - April 27, 2021, 5:36 a.m.

We appreciate this so much, June, and are so glad you're enjoying the recipe!

Staci - April 16, 2021, 3:36 a.m.

I very rarely try a recipe and love it enough to make everyday. This recipe changed all that! So easy to make and tastes incredible. My husband & I have enjoyed this recipe along with the other overnight oat recipes ever since the first day we tried them over a month ago. Next up we will be making the baked oatmeal recipe!

PUL Team - April 19, 2021, 1:47 a.m.

Thank you for the incredible review, Staci! We hope you love the baked oatmeal just as much 🤩

Peggy - April 8, 2021, 1:55 a.m.

My two daughters and I love your recipes!

PUL Team - April 8, 2021, 6:14 a.m.

Aww that makes us so happy to hear, Peggy!

Louise Magnusson🇸🇪 - March 24, 2021, 7:58 p.m.

I agree with previous writers: an indulgent breakfast option😋. Berries are definitely required to increase freshness. I used a mixed nut butter in my overnight oats, as I thought that peanut would go well together with the chocolate. Since I have type 1 diabetes, I excluded the maple syrup and dough balls. This wasn’t a problem at all. The only reason for not giving this recipe a full score is that I’m not a fan of cookies in general😅

PUL Team - April 2, 2021, 4:35 a.m.

Mmm the peanut with chocolate sounds lovely, Louise! Perhaps one day we can convert you into a cookie fan 😉

Riya - March 22, 2021, 9:21 a.m.

Tried this recipe, loved it! The cookie dough balls were a big hit with my family! Love the healthier take on cookie dough.

PUL Team - April 2, 2021, 1:54 a.m.

So glad you and your family enjoyed the cookie dough balls, Heather 🥰

Valerie - March 22, 2021, 9:20 a.m.

This overnight oats recipe really tastes like a healthier version of cookie dough, but tastes better in my opinion and doesn't spike my blood sugar! It is a very delicious and indulgent breakfast. Highly recommend adding strawberries/raspberries on top for the fresh pop of flavour.

PUL Team - April 2, 2021, 1:29 a.m.

Thank you for the glowing feedback, Valerie! It's so appreciated 🤗

Michaela - March 22, 2021, 8:40 a.m.

This was very good🤤 i make one with cashewbutter, and one with peanutbutter.

Sadia - March 29, 2021, 4:23 p.m.

So glad you loved it, Michaela! 😀
